The degree of warmth and heat in the North China Plain is rare in the same period, and the onset of winter in many places in the north is delayed

Since October this year, the temperature in most parts of the mainland has continued to be high, and as of October 28, the average temperature of the whole country is second only to 2006, which is the second highest in the history of meteorological observation. Under such a warm background, the pace of winter in some parts of the north has been blocked, and the southeast of Inner Mongolia, most of Liaoning, the south of Shanxi and many places in Xinjiang that should have entered winter a long time ago are still stuck in autumn. The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Shandong, and Henan, which are about to enter winter in the same period of the year, are likely to be "collectively late" in winter according to the current temperature trend.

It is expected that before November 2, due to the cold air force is still weak, the central and eastern part of the mainland will continue to stage the warming drama, and many places will enter the "sprint" stage, especially in the North China Plain, the warmth and heat level is like the end of summer and early autumn, and Heze and other places may usher in the first 30 °C in the history of local November observation around November 1.

Not only in the north, but also in the south of the Yangtze River, the weather pattern will also change. It is expected that the last two days of October until the beginning of November, the maximum temperature in most parts of Jiangnan and South China will be maintained at about 25~30 °C, and the cold and wet will gradually be replaced by sunny and warm.

However, this unusually warm pattern will not last long, and two waves of cold air are expected to move south to affect the mainland on November 2-3 and November 4-6. Most areas may usher in a cooling of about 10 °C, and some areas may even reach 15 °C.

The central and eastern parts of the country have opened a sunny and rainy pattern, and fog and haze have increased in North China and other places

In terms of precipitation, in the past few days, Jiangnan, South China and other places have experienced a wide range of rainy weather processes, and some areas have experienced strong rain. Since October 29, the current round of rainfall has entered the final stage, and the heavy rainfall is mainly concentrated in the southeast of Guangxi, the southeast of Guangxi, Hainan Island and other places.

In the next three days, most parts of the northern part of the mainland will still maintain a pattern of sunny and less rainy, the rain in the south will basically end, and the overall precipitation in the central and eastern regions will be scarce. However, due to the frequent shortwave trough transit, there will be a lot of rain and snow in the northern part of Xinjiang and the eastern and northeastern parts of Inner Mongolia, with heavy snow or heavy snowfall locally.

According to the forecast of the Central Meteorological Observatory, today (October 30), there will be light to moderate snow in some areas of Xinjiang Altay region, northeast Inner Mongolia, eastern Tibet, and southern Sichuan Plateau, among them, there will be heavy snow or blizzard in some areas of northern Xinjiang Altay and northeast Inner Mongolia. There was light rain in parts of southeastern Heilongjiang, central and eastern Jilin, eastern Liaoning, southeastern Sichuan, southern Yunnan, Hainan Island, and Taiwan Island.

Tomorrow (October 31), there will be light to moderate snow or sleet in parts of high-altitude areas in northern Xinjiang, northeast Inner Mongolia, and northwest Heilongjiang, among them, there will be heavy snow or blizzard in some areas of northern Altay and other places in Xinjiang. There was light rain in parts of northern Xinjiang, central and eastern Heilongjiang, central and eastern Jilin, northern Liaoning, and Taiwan Island.

The day after tomorrow (November 1), there will be light to moderate snow or sleet in parts of high-altitude areas in northern Xinjiang, northeast Inner Mongolia, southwestern Heilongjiang, central and eastern Tibet, and southwestern Qinghai, and heavy snow in northern Altay, Xinjiang. There was light rain in parts of northern Xinjiang, eastern Jilin, eastern Liaoning, southwestern Yunnan, Hainan Island, Taiwan Island and other places, among which, moderate rain was localized in eastern Hainan Island.

It is expected that in early November, under the influence of cold air, there will be strong rain and snow in the northern and northeast parts of North China, and there may be snowfall in large cities, such as Harbin and Shenyang.

In addition, before the arrival of cold air, the atmosphere is in a static and stable state, and the atmospheric diffusion conditions in the North China Plain and Sichuan Basin are poor, and fog and haze will continue to "check in" in the next few days. It is expected that from October 30 to November 2, the atmospheric diffusion conditions in central and southern North China and western Huanghuai will be poor, with light to moderate haze weather, of which some areas in central and southern North China will have severe haze. Since the night of November 2, under the influence of cold air, the atmospheric diffusion conditions in the above areas have gradually improved, and the haze weather has weakened and dissipated.

In addition to haze weather, in the next three days from night to early morning, there will be heavy fog in parts of central and southern North China, Jiangsu and Anhui, Sichuan Basin and other places, and visibility will drop significantly.

Beijing has launched an orange alert for heavy air pollution

According to the actual air quality monitoring and the latest forecast, a regional air pollution process occurred in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas due to the unfavorable meteorological conditions of regional low pressure, temperature inversion, static stability and high humidity. As a result, Beijing will experience a continuous moderate pollution process. In accordance with the provisions of the "Beijing Heavy Air Pollution Emergency Plan (Revised in 2023)", the Municipal Heavy Air Pollution Emergency Command Office issued that Beijing will start the orange warning for heavy air pollution from 12 o'clock on October 30 to 24 o'clock on November 2, and its China One National Two motor vehicles, construction waste muck sand and gravel trucks, and national IV diesel trucks with the city's license plate will be implemented from 0:00 on October 31 to 24:00 on November 2. The public is advised to take good health precautions.
