Polar Stone is a new energy vehicle start-up founded and owned by Zhang Jing, the founder of Roborock. The Polestone 01 is a massive extended-range full-size SUV available in both six- and seven-seater versions. The six-seat version has a 2 + 2 + 2 layout with dimensions of 5050/1980/1869 mm and a wheelbase of 3010 mm; The seven-seat version is 5295 mm long. Compared to the ideal cars L8 and L9, the Polarite 01 is very close in size.
The powertrain of the Polarstone 01 is powered by a 1.5-liter engine with an output of 154 hp. The engine is produced by China Dynamics company Xinchen, which also supplies engines for Li Cars, and produces some BMW engines in China. It should be noted that the engine of the Polestone 01 acts as a generator and does not directly transmit torque to the wheels.
The SUV is powered by two electric motors with a total power of 350 kW (476 hp) and is powered by a 56 kWh ternary lithium-ion battery pack supplied by CATL. The all-electric range is 235 kilometers (CLTC) and the hybrid range is up to 1,338 kilometers (CLTC). It is worth mentioning that the Polar 01 uses the same Hesai AT128 lidar technology as the ideal car.
The Polar 01 is priced at 34.99-359,900 yuan (about $47,800-49,200) and is expected to begin deliveries in November this year. The SUV's target market is the market where the L8 and L9 are located.
