Third, the so-called "one heart and one mind" is nothing more than a community of interests.

Jian Zi made Yin Duo Jinyang. Please: "Think the cocoon is silky?" Or is it guaranteed? Jian Zi said, "Guaranteed!" "Yin Duo lost the number of his households. Jian Zi said: "The Country of Jin is difficult, and there is no Yin Duo as the less, no Jinyang as far away, and it will be returned."
[Translation 1] Zhao Jianzi sent Yin Duo to govern Jinyang. Yin Duo asked, "Did you send me to loot more money, or did you leave a way back for the base area?" Zhao Jianzi said: "Do the base area." So Yin Duo went, and he reduced taxes and improved people's livelihood. Zhao Jianzi said to Wu Zi: "Once there is a catastrophe in the Jin Kingdom, you should not think that Yin Duo is young, nor do you think that Jinyang is far away, you must go to him." ”

Zhi Bo was furious, shuai Han and Wei Zhijia attacked the Zhao clan. Xiangzi will come out, saying, "Why should I go?" The follower said: "The eldest son is near, and the city is thick." Xiang Zi said: "The people will strike to the end, and they will die to keep it, who is with me!" The slave said: "The warehouse of Handan is real." Xiang Zi said, "The anointing of the junmin is real, and therefore it is killed, who is with me!" Its Jin Yang Hu, the ancestor of the Lord also belongs, Yin Duo's place is also wide, the people will be at peace. "It's Jinyang."

Zhao Xiangzi couldn't resist and wanted to evacuate, so he asked his subordinates, "Where are we going to retreat?" The subordinate said: "Changzi County is relatively close, and the city is completely solid." Zhao Xiangzi said: "The people are exhausted to consolidate the city, and they have to fight desperately to defend the city, who can join forces with me?" The subordinate said, "Then go to Handan!" Grain storage is relatively abundant. Zhao Xiangzi said: "The so-called abundant grain storage is all looted." When the people were swept away, and now they are sent to my death with me, can they support me? Let's go to Jinyang! When my father was alive, he told me to go to Jinyang when I had difficulties. Yin Duo is generous and loves the people, and the people of Jinyang must be with me! So he went to Jinyang.
【Analysis】
These two pieces of material tell the story of Zhao Jianzi thinking that after his abdication, the Zhi family (Zhi Bo) is likely to attack the Zhao state and leave a back road for his successor Zhao Xiangzi (Zhao Wuxi) in advance. The story is simple. But the truth of the story is indeed a naked reality.

Zhao Jianzi asked Yin Duo to become a magistrate in Jinyang, and Yin Duo's first reaction was worth playing. Listening to the sound, Yin Duo's words actually hid a meaning, that is, to become a magistrate, the priority was to loot money, and then to consider appeasing the people.
In other words, the "above" person gives priority to his own interests, not the suffering of the "below".
This is a very important point that we have to understand. Otherwise, in ordinary work and life, there will be an embarrassing situation of not being able to grasp the true intentions of the leader.
Just like the TV series "Daming Dynasty 1566", the so-called "changing rice to mulberry" is really adding income to farmers? Not really, but to fill the deficit of the national treasury. If you don't understand the reasoning, you have to be a "competent" parent official, that is the opposite and inappropriate. No matter how well you do it, it is in vain, as for the people "below", who cares?

Zhi Bo attacked the State of Zhao, and Zhao Xiangzi could not resist trying to escape. Not knowing where to go, I analyzed a wave of the situation in detail. In the end, it was found that there was nowhere to go except Jinyang.
Why? This is the evil consequence of not caring about the people "below".
This tells us a truth, usually it is not feasible to take advantage of the people and plunder the people's fat and people's ointment. This is to tell the so-called leaders that you are usually extremely harsh on your subordinates, do not give them a salary increase, let them 996 every day, and do not pay five insurances and one gold. Subordinates are desperately trying to earn money, and your house is getting bigger and bigger, BMW today, Mercedes tomorrow. Usually, you think these people are very obedient, the work is OK, it seems that it is not a big deal.
But when it comes to the critical moment, you are alone. Your "big house" and "famous car" don't work. In the end, it will be taken away by people who are stronger than you.

Zhao Xiangzi was cornered and finally went to Jinyang. Jinyang did not have tall walls and no abundant grain storage.
Why go to Jinyang? Because the people support it.
Why do the people support it? Because Yin Duo reduced taxes and improved people's livelihood, the people lived well. If the wise man wins, change a magistrate, and the people may not be able to live so well.
It was concluded that the interests of the people of Jinyang → the interests of Yin Duo→ the interests of Zhao Xiangzi, and were tied together. They are a community of interests.
So, it's easy to want someone else to help you. Tie your interests together, and you'll do it, and everything else will be nonsense.
【Summary】
In fact, Sima Guang wanted to criticize this phenomenon. He first pointed out that most leaders only think of their own interests, regardless of the lives of those below. Then he wrote that doing so would result in "solitude" and would not be able to withstand powerful risks. Later, he advocated that leaders should be like "Yin Duo", love the people like sons, tie themselves and the people into a community of interests, and support each other.
Contrary to their wishes, most people are still the same.
