At this moment, Yu Rang suddenly took out a dagger and rushed towards Zhao Xiangzi, shouting, "I want to avenge Zhi Bo!" Zhao Xiangzi's guards hurriedly took Yu Rang and planned to execute him.
Zhao Xiangzi waved his hand and said, "This is a righteous soldier, I just need to avoid him, there is no need to execute him." Zhi Bo left no descendants, and his courtiers who were willing to avenge him must be the wise men of the world. So he ordered someone to release Yu Rang. Zhao Xiangzi's tolerance did not exchange Yu Rang's gratitude, and he still decided to avenge Zhi Bo. This time he painted himself all over and made himself into a leper. At the same time, he stripped his eyebrows and hair, completely disfigured, and pretended to be a beggar begging. Even his wife didn't recognize him when she saw him, but thought he sounded a bit like it. In order to be foolproof, Yu Rang swallowed charcoal to make his voice dumb.
Yu Rang's friend said, "It is very difficult for you to succeed in this method, and with your talents, wouldn't it be easy to pretend to serve Zhao Xiangzi and then find an opportunity to assassinate him?" Yu Rang said, "You mean to beat up new friends for the sake of old friends, and to kill new monarchs for the sake of old monarchs. I am doing this today only to illustrate the righteousness of the monarch, and it does not matter whether the revenge is successful or not. How can we call a loyal servant if we gain the trust of others and then assassinate them?"
Later, Zhao Xiangzi went out on a tour, and Yu Rang hid on the road that must be passed to prepare for the assassination, but he was unexpectedly discovered. Zhao Xiangzi asked curiously, "You also served the Fan clan and the Zhongxing clan before, and Zhibo destroyed the Fan clan and the Zhongxing clan, and you did not avenge them, but instead humiliated the courtier Zhibo." Now that Zhi Bo has been dead for a long time, why do you have to avenge him?" Yu Rang said: "The Fan clan and the Zhongxing clan treat me with the etiquette of ordinary people, and I will repay them with the attitude of ordinary people." Zhi Bo treated me with the courtesy of a national soldier, and I repaid them with the attitude of a national soldier. ”
Zhao Xiangzi said, "If you avenge Zhibo, you have become a loyal and righteous soldier, and I have already exhausted your benevolence and righteousness before." You can't be let go anymore today. Yu Rang said, "I understand you, and you have become famous for letting me go before." But can you give me the robe and let me stab a few swords? So even if I die, I have no regrets. After Zhao Xiangzi listened, he immediately took off his royal robe to Yu Rang. Yu Rang stabbed a few swords after taking the royal robe and cried, "Oh my God, I have finally avenged Zhi Bo." He then committed suicide.
