On October 11, at the Qicai Xianggeng Happy Farm Primary and Middle School Social Practice Education Base, Chongqing Jiulongpo District Special Education School and Chongqing Primary and Secondary School Social Practice Promotion Association jointly launched the 2023 autumn parent-child labor practice activity, the school's students learned farming knowledge, recognized common crops and farming tools, experienced the fun of kimchi making, and harvested and grew in labor.
"One or two! One or two! Come on baby. After the "Two People and Three Legs" warm-up game, the parent-child labor practice activities slowly unfolded.
"Dear students, please stand well, put your hands vertically down for the 'root', close them on the chest for the 'stem', raise your hands high and open a little for the 'leaf', bend your fingers for the 'flower', and hold the 'fruit' with your hands raised above your head." The farm staff uses vivid and vivid body movements to help students understand the growth process of plants, mobilize students' participation and enthusiasm in a question and answer session, enhance memory, and make farming knowledge truly enter the brain and heart in a relaxed and pleasant learning atmosphere.
In the fields, a vibrant agricultural scene. Under the guidance of teachers and parents, the students waved small shovels, hoeed the vines, dug out the sweet potatoes, and after a while, they harvested a lot: one by one, red and large sweet potatoes were piled up. The students put the sweet potatoes into the bags one by one, and although their hands were full of dirt and their faces were full of sweat, their happiness did not diminish in the slightest, and they took photos with their "fruits of labor", and laughter echoed in the fields.
In order to allow students to master more life skills, the "diving kimchi" session was also set up in the day's activities. Tear cabbage, put salt, grab and mix, can, pour brine... In the company of parents, students learn how to make and store kimchi and learn about "kimchi culture".
Are field classrooms out of the classroom effective? The smiles on the students' faces are the best answer.
Labor education is a necessary way for students to grow, and for special students, labor education is a key step to help them adapt to life and integrate into society.
