Today's international situation is calm on the surface, but there are hidden undercurrents. Since the beginning of the 21st century, there have been few overt armed conflicts between countries, but competition in the biological, technological and economic fields. In this context, China's Huawei 5G technology leads the world, but it has raised concerns in the United States that China's technological rise has shaken its hegemonic position.

Back in 2018, the United States secretly plotted Canada to arrest Meng Wanzhou, the daughter of Huawei CFO and Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei, at the airport and refused to release her. However, after the unremitting efforts of the Chinese government and Huawei, Meng Wanzhou was finally acquitted and returned to China in August 2021, triggering a scene of landmarks in Shenzhen lighting neon lights for her and welcoming her home. But on this festive occasion, there is another person who is still behind bars and eager to return home: Wang Weijing, a former Huawei employee.

Wang Weijing's life originated in an ordinary rural family, but his persistence and hard work enabled him to obtain a special recruitment from Beijing Foreign Chinese University to learn Polish. After graduating, he went on to study at the University of Lodz in Poland. However, his life trajectory took a turn in 2005, when he left Poland and returned to his homeland to accept Huawei's invitation. Although the decision upended his previous plans, Wang Weijing was moved by the sincerity and ambition of Huawei's recruiters and decided to join this promising domestic company.

During her time at Huawei, Wang Weijing served as a public relations manager, responsible for communicating with relevant Polish government departments and paving the way for Huawei's business actions. His work went well and allowed Huawei to take steady roots in Poland. At the same time, he befriended his Polish friend Piot del Barrow, an important telecommunications bureau official. The friendship between the two deepened, and even the Polish Security Service set its sights on them, suspecting that they were involved in espionage.

In January 2019, Wang Weijing was arrested by the Polish government on espionage charges. The Polish Security Service conveyed the news to the United States, which was highly recognized. Mr. Wang's arrest appears to be more than a routine espionage raid, but rather an attempt by Poland to implement U.S. demands to suppress Huawei and its core technology.

Despite measures taken by China's Foreign Ministry and Huawei to try to free Wang Weijing, he remains in custody, and the Polish government continues to extend his detention. The Polish government even imposed penalties on Wang Weijing to restrict his exit, leaving him in prison and unable to return to the motherland. However, neither the Foreign Ministry, Huawei, nor Wang Weijing's lawyers insisted on seeking justice through legal means so that he could return to his family.

Despite the bumpy road ahead, I believe that one day, Wang Weijing will be acquitted by the Polish government and return to the embrace of the motherland. At the same time, this event also highlights the obstacles of the United States to the rise of China's science and technology, however, the progress of China's science and technology has become an irreversible trend, and after the darkness, the dawn will surely usher in.
