Chen Lifu was a veteran figure of the Kuomintang. It is said that after watching the film "The Founding Ceremony" filmed on the mainland, he was very impressed with Huang Xiaoli, the actor of the first-class general Cheng Qian, and said that his words and deeds were too similar to Cheng Songgong.

To make a long story short, this Mr. Cheng Qian, who has been the governor of Hunan Province for 20 years, even Mao Gong must respect him as an "old boss", what is the origin of this?

In 1882, Cheng Qian was born in Guanzhuang, Liling, Hunan. From a young age, he was very hard at reading, and he won the show talent very early. Later, he graduated from the Sixth Artillery Section of the Japanese Army Non-Commissioned Officer School.

Cheng Qian joined the League early and was a loyal follower of Sun Yat-sen. During the Xinhai Revolution, he and Huang Xing commanded artillery operations in Hankou together, and the two cooperated tacitly and talked about everything.

During the long revolutionary struggle, Sun Yat-sen realized the importance of the army, so he wanted to set up his own military academy. When Cheng Was the Minister of Military Affairs of Sun Yat-sen, he founded the "Base Camp Army Martial Arts School", so Sun Yat-sen founded the Whampoa Military Academy, and the two military schools were combined.

There is a saying that the first choice of the principal was Cheng Qian, and Jiang Gong was the vice president. But Jiang Gong's political sensitivity, which was quite high, he knew the value of the military academy principal, coupled with the fact that he had accompanied Sun Yat-sen on the Yongfeng ship, he was deeply trusted by him.

Fortunately, Cheng Qian himself did not care much about fame and fortune, and finally let Jiang Gong serve as the principal. It can be seen from this that Cheng Qian's political qualifications are enough to compete with Jiang Gong.

In 1937, when the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression broke out, Cheng Qian became the commander of the First Theater of Operations, concurrently served as the chairman of Hunan, and became the number one military and political leader in Hunan, like Yan Xishan in Shanxi and Li Zongren in Guangxi.

In 1946, when civil war broke out, Cheng Qian was appointed director of the Wuhan Xingyuan of the Military Commission. In 1948, in order to offset the pressure of Li Zongren's campaign for vice president, Jiang Gong urged Cheng Qian to run, and later forced Cheng Qian to withdraw from the election and gave up his vote to Sun Ke with the situation that several candidates had equal votes.

At this point, Cheng Qian's "Hunan Mule" had a temper attack, and instead he cooperated with his political nemesis Li Zongren to give up his vote to Li Shi and help him, and Li Shi was successfully elected vice president. Cheng Qian's approach was very annoying to Jiang Gong.

On August 4, 1949, Cheng Qian and Chen Mingren led their troops to publish a peaceful uprising in Changsha.

On September 7, 1949, Mao Gong, Zhu De, Zhou Enlai and others came to the Beiping Railway Station together to greet his old boss Cheng Qian. There is another person who can let Mao Gong pick up the station, and there is another person, that is, Sun Yat-sen's widow, Soong Ching-ling.

Cheng Qian was very excited: "Chairman, you are so busy, how did you come?" Mao Gong said humorously: "No matter how busy I am, I will come, you are my old boss and a fellow countryman, wouldn't it be rude not to come?" ”

I have watched the TV series "Qia Classmate Youth", in which Mao Gong was a soldier in the Hunan New Army when he was young, and Cheng Qian was the chief of staff and the head of the military department of the Hunan Governor's Office, so Mao Gong has always called him his "old boss." ”

In the 1960s, Mao Gong still remembered: the gun on the shoulder, the gun was lowered, aimed, shooting, and so on, and I still haven't forgotten that this was learned from the new army commanded by Cheng Songgong.

In the autumn of 1952, boating on Zhongnanhai Lake, and the oarsman was Mao Gong, and cheng diving in the boat was quickly stopped.

Mao Gong said, "You are an elder of the Kuomintang, a patriotic general, and my old superior, a native of my hometown. Besides, you are already a rare year, you can't let you paddle, or please do as you please! "Those who can make Mao Gong paddle, only Cheng sneaks one person."

It is said that in the matter of conferring titles, Mao Gong specifically discussed with Cheng Qian and wanted to give him the title of marshal. But Cheng Qian insisted on not saying it, saying bluntly: he did not make much contribution to the revolution, was far worse than others, and did not deserve the rank of marshal.

Since then, Cheng Qian has successively served as chairman of the Hunan Provincial Military and Political Committee, governor of Hunan Province, vice chairman of the Central and Southern Military and Political Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, and vice chairman.

In 1959, after the Lushan Conference, Cheng Qian, as the governor of Hunan Province, cried out for Zhou Xiaozhou, secretary of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee: "Good people are straightened out, where does the truth exist?" ”

Cheng Qian's words could touch the dragon scales. Some people say that if it were not for Cheng Qian's identity, he would not be able to escape the impact of previous movements by virtue of his outspoken and angry temper.

During the Cultural Revolution, Cheng Qian was protected. But there is an episode that is very telling. At that time, the Red Guards raided homes everywhere, and Cheng Qian's secretary suggested that it would be better to hang a portrait of the chairman at home.

At this point, Cheng Qian stopped doing it: I am the Kuomintang, why should I hang up the chairman's portrait? Hang up the statue of Sun Yat-sen!

The secretary was embarrassed by this. Fortunately, there are high people pointing out, making two front and back frames, one side is the statue of Mao Gong, on the other side is the statue of Sun Yat-sen, hanging in the large living room. If outsiders come, hang up the statue of Mao Gong, and usually turn it over to be the statue of Sun Yat-sen.

In 1967, Chinese New Year's Eve, Cheng Qian accidentally fell and fractured his bones, and he has not been able to stand up again. On April 9, 1968, Cheng Died of Illness in Beijing at the age of 86.

No one dared to decide whether a "national leader" like Cheng Qian should hold a memorial service. It was not until Zhou Gong gave clear instructions that someone began to prepare. On April 12, the memorial service was held at the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery, which was quite deserted.

When Zhou Gong offered condolences to the family, Guo Yiqing, Cheng Qian's wife, plucked up the courage to ask, "Who is Cheng Qian?" What is the composition of my family? ”

At that time, the whole audience was shocked, until Zhou Gong replied: "Of course, Gong Song is a revolutionary cadre!" Of course, your family is a revolutionary family! Suddenly, the family members present were relieved.

Cheng Qian: After 20 years as the governor of Hunan Province, even Mao Gong respected him as an "old boss"

It can be said that Cheng Li was the governor of Hunan Province until his death in 1968. If you count from the time he returned to Xiangxiang in 1948 as the provincial chairman, Cheng Qian was the governor of the province for 20 years. I am afraid that no one can break this record.

It's all the way to the past...
