Chinese wife angrily sued Canadian junior: recover $4.6 million in cash + mansion

author:Anonymous Spectator

As the saying goes, family ugliness must not be exposed. This traditional concept has led many victims in families and marriages to choose forbearance and compromise, but now people's thinking is clearly different.

Recently, a Chinese woman took her husband's mistress to the British Columbia Supreme Court, demanding C$4.6 million (24.6 million yuan) and control of a mansion worth more than $3.1 million on Hersham Avenue in Burnaby.

Ci Huang, who is now retired and lives in China, claimed that her husband illegally transferred about $4.6 million from the family's joint bank account to his mistress, Danni Zhu, through several middlemen and multiple accounts, who allegedly used part of the money to buy Burnaby's property.

According to a notice of civil claim filed with the B.C. Supreme Court this month, Ms. Huang claims she and her husband, Xing Huang, had been married for 18 years, and that he had met Danni Zhu in 2014, when she was 22 years old.

Huang said her husband and Zhu had a five-year affair between 2015 and 2020.

Huang said that when she learned of the relationship, she also discovered that her husband "illegally caused" about $4.6 million to be transferred from the family joint savings account to Zhu Danni's account.

Huang said the transfers included "a series of transactions involving several middlemen and multiple accounts."

Huang claimed that Zhu knew it was illegal but "paid no attention or deliberately turned a blind eye to it" and participated in the illegal act by receiving funds.

According to claim documents, Chu became the owner of the Hersham Avenue property about three weeks after an $800,000 transfer in April 2016. Huang said Zhu used funds transferred from her family bank account to make a down payment and other payments related to the house.

The claim documents state that Zhu is the sole owner of the property.

According to the claim documents, Huang has won a lawsuit against her husband and Zhu in the Chongchuan District People's Court in Nantong, China.

In the case, Huang stated that her husband admitted to transferring funds from the family joint deposit to Zhu without the wife's knowledge or consent.

However, Zhu "disputed the claim that she was given money."

Huang is now asking the BC court for an order to enforce a Chinese court judgment that ordered Zhu Danni to repay C$4.6 million.

Wong also asked for control of the Hersham Avenue property, which she considered "illegal gain" as an alleged generous gift from Chu through her husband.

None of the allegations in the civil claim notice were substantiated in court.

At the time of writing, Zhu had not responded to the allegations.

Huang is now asking the BC court for an order to enforce a Chinese court judgment that ordered Danni Zhu to return about C$4.6 million.

She also demanded control of the Hersham Avenue property, arguing that the so-called generous gift Judanni received through her husband was "illegal gain".

As of now, these allegations have not been confirmed in court. Zhu Danni has also not responded to the allegations.

However, this case is yet another reminder that the traditional concept of the family is changing, and people are becoming more and more courageous in revealing and solving family problems.
