Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that defender Benjamin Parvard wants to join Inter before the summer transfer window closes.

Parvard, now in the final year of his contract in Munich, has made it clear that he is not prepared to consider a contract extension, forcing Bayern to listen to the offer offered to him. United expressed interest in Parvad early on and wanted to sign the Frenchman as a potential replacement for Harry Maguire, but the Englishman's offer to move to West Ham for £30m failed and the Red Devils had to dismiss interest after failing to free up space on their salary bills.

That hesitation allowed Inter to step in and agree to a €33 million (£28.3 million) transfer fee, and Tuchel has now publicly confirmed Pavard wants to move to Italy. "We know Benji wants to go to Inter," Tuchel told a news conference. "But if we're going to complete the transfer, there's more to consider than just one factor. We have to find a replacement, otherwise it won't happen. ”

With Bayern yet to approve the transfer, Pavard's future remains uncertain and West Ham United have not ruled out the possibility of chasing Maguire again and the story could have a final twist. Manchester United and West Ham have agreed a £30million transfer deal for Harry Maguire, but the centre-back was unable to agree on a severance package, ultimately leading to a failed transfer earlier this month.

United could reconsider West Ham if he restarts his transfer, and if Parvald's offer to move to Inter Milan is not confirmed. To further add to the transfer carousel, Bayern are looking for West Ham's Thilo Keller as a potential replacement for Parvard.
