On 9 January, Bayern Munich FC officially announced that 22-year-old French player Benjamin Pavard will join in the summer of 2019, signing a five-year contract between the two sides. Pavard will officially join on July 1.

Pavard currently plays for Bundesliga club Stuttgart and won the World Cup in Russia last summer as the main right-back with the French national team.
