She said that the above 10% are young people, with high purchasing power, and also like more convenient and streamlined weddings. Thailand has the advantage of being shorter, with plenty of venues to choose from, and not having to book months in advance, as in Hong Kong, and at a relatively high cost. This is also the reason why some couples with certain financial strength are more willing to go abroad for weddings.
Phong Meng added that from January to July this year, a total of 454,008 tourists went to Thailand and Hong Kong, and it is expected to reach 700,000 throughout the year; The average cost per person per day for a single trip is THB 10,000, or THB 30,000 per person per trip, an increase from 2019. This year, BTB plans to increase Hong Kong tourists' travel expenses by 10%, attracting 1 million visitors to the region.
