The police immediately sent a special case team to Hengdian, and after careful investigation, they finally arrested him in the rental house rented by Ji Shiguang.
After Ji Shiguang was arrested, he confessed his crime and expressed remorse.

In March 2012, Ji Shiguang was sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined 100,000 yuan by the Qiqihar Intermediate People's Court for robbery.
The court held that although Ji Shiguang did not directly participate in stabbing Yang Lin, he jointly committed robbery with Liu Xianpeng and Li Ming and took Yang Lin's wife hostage, which was an accomplice. Ji Shiguang accepted the verdict and said he would not appeal.
