Maldini's eldest son has officially announced his retirement and is about to switch careers to become a player agent.

AC Milan's club legend Maldini was sacked from management by Redbird shortly after last season. His two sons, Christian and Daniel, also chose to embark on different career paths this summer. These two players, also from the Rossoneri's youth system, will most likely not be able to recreate the glory of their parents and grandparents at the San Siro Stadium.

Maldini has spoken to his two sons in past media interviews, and he thinks it is difficult for the children to stick to playing football. Because when they choose to become a professional footballer, it means that they will face a lot of troubles and pressure, and this kind of problem will stay with them for a long time.

Maldini's eldest son, Christian, has officially decided to end his playing career this summer and will choose to become an agent in the future. He has played for Serie C side Lecco this past season, but the 27-year-old has only made a handful of four appearances.

Christian left AC Milan as a free agent in the summer of 2016 and continued his career with a number of lower-level teams such as Reggiana, Hamlensparta, Prosesto, Fondí, Propiacenza and Fano Emma. Unfortunately, he was never able to keep his career going.

After some consideration, he has now started his internship under the well-known agent Riso. The Italian agent's clients include Tonali, Fratesi, Di Marco, Pessina, Cristante, Gagliardini and Sensi, among others.

Maldini's second son, Daniel, is on loan at Empoli this season with an optional buyout clause of €5 million, while AC Milan can choose to activate a €6 million counter-buyout option. He was also loaned out by the Rossoneri last season and made a total of 20 appearances during his time at Spezia, including four starts, with three goals.

However, due to his frequent injuries in the past two seasons, he has seriously lacked the continuity of the game, and his form and growth have been limited. If the 21-year-old is unable to deliver convincing performances this season, it is also likely that he will not be able to get a contract extension from the Rossoneri when his current contract expires.
