Chen Jingyu told Beijing Youth Daily that the lung transplant was performed by other doctors in her team for a lung transplant for an emphysema patient in his 60s. The donor came from Chengdu and was donated by a deceased patient. Donors are allocated through a LAS-scoring system, matched to suitable recipients.
According to Chen Jingyu, the donor was taken from the donor at about 16 o'clock on July 21 and urgently sent to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport for boarding. The plane was scheduled to take off at 17:20 and land in Wuxi at 19:55.
