Cherry tomatoes are scientifically known as cherry tomatoes, also known as pocket tomatoes, mini tomatoes, etc., which can be both vegetables and fruits. In 2008, the tomato breeding team of the Municipal Institute of Agricultural Sciences took high quality, high yield and disease resistance as the breeding goal, extensively collected germplasm resources at home and abroad, adopted the dual identification method of molecular gene marker and field phenotype, after multi-generation separation and purification, polymerized high-quality traits, and screened out 7 strong and excellent combinations in 2018 in the 178 hybrid combinations configured. After the combination test, variety comparison test, and multi-point regional test, the variety registration of "Jinbao", "Pink Treasure No. 1" and "Pink Treasure No. 2" was finally determined.

It is understood that the three new varieties of cherry tomatoes have different fruit colors, good quality, different flavors, and have strong resistance to the mainstream tomato diseases of Ty virus and root-knot nematodes in our city. The breeding of new varieties marks that the breeding work of Xi'an Agricultural Science Research Institute has entered a new stage of combining gene molecular marker breeding and traditional breeding methods, providing strong scientific and technological support for further improving the breeding level of our city and promoting industrial revitalization and seed industry revitalization.
