Although James Harden asked the 76ers for a trade after choosing a contract for next year, the point guard is still a member of the Philadelphia roster. As a result, it's still possible that he will return to Philadelphia next year, depending on how he performs for the rest of the offseason.

A new 76ers wants Harden to stay with the team. Patrick Beverley, who played with Harden in Houston for five years, pleaded with the guard to stay in an interview with the media.

Beverley explained that he and Harden developed a close relationship during their time with the Rockets, so much so that their family became close.

"James is a very good friend of mine," Beverley said. “我们的妈妈也‬是最好的朋友。

After splitting from the Lakers and Bulls last year, Beverley signed a one-year contract with Philadelphia when free agency opened up. Currently, he's Harden's backup on the depth map, and he's obviously very happy with the role if Harden returns.

The last time Harden and Beverley met, they averaged more than 30 minutes per game for the Rockets in 2016-17, when the team lost the Western Conference semifinals. However, both players are still seeking their first NBA title.
