Big-nosed George, a cattle thief and road robber in the early nineteenth century American West. Captured by the people of Wyoming, lynched and made into an ashtray with a skull, peeled off to make a pair of leather shoes and a handbag.

Big-nosed George, born Parrott, was a cattle thief and robber active in the wilderness of the American West in the late 19th century. He got the nickname because of his exceptionally large nose. Petty theft was not conspicuous in the wild environment of the American West at the time, as many more appalling events took place at that time.

However, it wasn't until 1878 that George and his gang attracted attention during a train robbery. At the time, a train on the Union Pacific Railroad carried a lot of money, because business transactions were done in cash. George's goal was this train. They planned to change the train tracks, but the plan failed and alarmed the railway staff.

George escaped to Sidewinder Canyon at the foot of Elk Mountain, followed by two investigators from Carbon County, Dofield and Vinson. Eventually, George was captured by the local people and lynched. It is said that his skull was made into an ashtray, while his skin was peeled off to make a pair of leather shoes and a handbag.

The shoes and handbag are now on display at the Carbon County History Museum in Rollins, Wyoming, USA, making it a historic exhibit. The story also became a local legend, leaving people shocked and curious about George's crimes and his fate as an exhibit.
