With the excellent poems of the past generations as the main creative content, all the members of the Muxin Printing Society worked hard to complete the creation. The protagonist of this issue of seal carving "Zhao Mengfu" is closely related to seal carving, he is an official from the late Southern Song Dynasty to the early Yuan Dynasty, a famous painter, calligrapher, poet, and loves gold and stone seal carving. Zhao Mengfu put forward the aesthetic idea of "painting is expensive and ancient", which is not only reflected in painting, but also widely permeates poetry, calligraphy, seal carving and other fields. Zhao expressed his criticism and advocacy of seal carving in the Preface to the History of India. The preface reads: "Yu tastes the book seal of the recent Shi Dafu, one is based on novelty, the system of Ding Yi pot jue, the accommodating duality text, the image of water, moon, wood, stone, flowers and birds, and covers the remaining coincidence." One day process Yi father, Shiyu "Baozhang Collection Gu" two parts, then the ancient seal text, all in printing paper, credible and not false. For the sake of fakes, those who adopt it are quaint and elegant, and those who model 340 pieces, and revise their research texts, are collected as the "History of India". "It probably means that when Zhao saw that the doctor used the seal, in terms of seal shape, he often wrote the text on Zhongding, Hulu and other seals that overemphasized formalism, losing the dignified rules and simple and heavy style of the Qin and Han seal shape. At the same time, the content of the printing is mainly based on patterns such as water, moon, flowers and birds, which makes the ancient method of Qin and Han even more lost. He obtained 340 ancient Han and white seals from the "Treasure Seal Collection Gu" and collected them into the "History of Seals". to change the phenomenon of the decline of the printing world.
Zhao's contribution was not only that, but he was printed with a small seal, forming a new form of expression of Yuan Zhuwen. There are two interpretations of Yuanzhuwen, the first is the "yuan" of the Yuan dynasty, named because the style was formed in the Yuan dynasty. The second is the circle of square circles, named for the smooth rotation of the lines. The emergence of this style not only reversed the style of printing at that time, but also opened up a new way for future generations to learn seal engravers. Teacher Nanshan is a young seal engraver influenced by Yuan Zhuwen, and his rule Zhuwen is quiet and elegant, and his work is beautiful. There are many people who imitate the small seal and enter the seal, and the small seal of the Song and Yuan dynasties is slightly different from the small seal of the Ming and Qing dynasties, such as the small seal of Wu Rangzhi and Mr. Xu Sangeng, which is more sparse and handsome. It is also different from the iron wire seal that is also a small seal Zhuwen, and the iron wire seal is known for being as hard as iron and slender as thread. They basically have one thing in common: "rounded and tactful". The printed fonts have provided rich soil and inspiration for future generations of seal engravers, and have been interpreted and practiced by Mr. Deng Shiru's "printing from the book".
Artistic creation is a process of self-analysis, a subjective emotion of the author, combined with the characteristics of the times. After more than 2,000 years of historical evolution, the art of seal carving has shown a variety of phenomena with different forms and styles. For example, the natural frankness of the Qin seal, the dignified and rich Han seal, the natural interest of the general seal, the twisting and twisting of the Tang and Song dynasties, and the Ming and Qing dynasties with people or regions as the genre, there are many faces. Today, the art of seal carving has reached another peak, more and more young authors have joined, and artistic creation has also pursued cultural connotation and self-cultivation. Artistic creation cannot be separated from the author's personal interest expression, allowing thoughts to flow freely on a small printing surface, and finally showing the phenomenon of variety, different tastes, and a hundred flowers. The one who seals, without him, is only a pen, an ink, a stone, and a knife.
