According to foreign trade statistics from January to May 2023, China has become Uzbekistan's largest trading partner, with bilateral trade reaching US$4.5 billion, according to the Uzbek state news agency.

According to the National Statistics Service of Uzbekistan, the second and third trading partners are Russia and Kazakhstan, with a trade volume of $3.8 billion and $1.9 billion, respectively.

The trade volume of other major trading partners is as follows:

- Turkey: $1.3 billion

- South Korea: $1 billion

-Germany: $894 million

- Kyrgyzstan: $419 million

- Turkmenistan: $364 million

- France: $332 million

- Afghanistan: $328 million

From January to May 2023, Uzbekistan's total foreign trade reached $25.8 billion.

In addition, economic and trade activities between China and Uzbekistan have become more and more frequent. On the 25th, the "Uzbekistan-China" business forum was held in Gulistan (118 km from Tashkent), Syrdarya Prefecture, Ukraine. More than 250 representatives from more than 100 leading Chinese enterprises attended the forum.

It is reported that this is the largest economic and trade event in the history of the region.

During this forum, product exhibitions were also organized and meetings were held in the form of B2B and G2B, which will become an effective platform to promote direct contact between representatives of enterprises of the two countries and identify new growth points.

According to the schedule of this forum, an exhibition of industrial products produced by large Sino-Ukrainian joint enterprises was also held.

The exhibition also showcases high value-added products produced by pharmaceutical, chemical, textile, and building materials manufacturers.

According to the organizers, the exhibition aims to reveal the potential of the Ukrainian economy and industry and industrial cooperation between the regions of the two countries. On the sidelines of the exhibition, Chinese and Ukrainian entrepreneurs established new contacts and discussed the details of further cooperation.

It is worth noting that according to the statistics of the Ukrainian Bureau of Statistics, in the first five months of this year, 1,279 new foreign companies were added to Ukraine. Among them, Russian companies topped the list with 376, followed by Chinese companies (245) and Turkish companies (121). Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, the United States, Germany and other countries have also opened new enterprises in Ukraine.
