They held flowers and offered them to the monument, silently mourning. Wang Mingzhang was born in 1893 in Taixingchang, the new city of Sichuan Province, and is a native of Sichuan. Wang Mingzhang's grandfather's family is harmonious, and his father and uncle love each other.
His uncle Wang Xintian was very concerned about Wang Mingzhang's studies and sponsored Wang Mingzhang to go to school from an early age. His uncle's family was relatively wealthy, so Wang Mingzhang's education path was very smooth, and the primary school was a higher primary school. In 1909, he graduated from the Sichuan Army Officer School and was later admitted to the third phase of the Army Primary School.
Wang Mingzhang, who was highly educated, had his own unique views on politics, and it was time for the decadent Qing Dynasty to change regimes. In 1911, in order to suppress the revolution, the Qing government agreed to a loan contract for road construction by the British, French, German, and American banking groups, and implemented the policy of "nationalization of railways". The right of way in Sichuan was recovered, but the compensation was not returned. All strata in Sichuan were very dissatisfied with this, so they simply rose up and launched a road protection movement.

This incident also made Wang Mingzhang realize the importance of power. Only with a certain ability to mobilize can we better save the country.
Therefore, Wang Mingzhang continued to be angry and strong, and was admitted to the third infantry section of the Sichuan Army Officer School. In 1914, he graduated successfully. After graduation, he was assigned to the Sichuan Army and served as a platoon leader in the 7th Regiment of the 2nd Division of the Sichuan Army. On September 12, before the army set out, Wang Mingzhang swore an oath to wholeheartedly resist Japan. Throw your head away and spill your blood, even if you don't hesitate. He hoped to offset his guilt of participating in the civil war and hurting his fellow tribesmen.
Before leaving Sichuan, the people of Sichuan sent them a pennant to show their support. There are 8 big characters sprinkled on it: Tianfu disciples, resist the country! Looking at this pennant, Wang Mingzhang said to the soldiers: This battle is related to the survival of the country. For the sake of the great righteousness of the nation, we will fight the devils to the death, and we will never live without driving them out of the Land of China!
The War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression
Subsequently, he hurriedly said goodbye to his wife and children, and stepped into the battle line without turning his head. This distinction is actually a parting of life and death, and the heavens are separated.
In the Battle of Xuzhou, Han Fuyu retreated without a fight, breaking the situation that was originally beneficial to our army. The Japanese army occupied Qingdao, Jinan, without spending a single soldier, and then attacked all the way to Teng County as if it were in no man's land. TengXian is an important area, and it is the last place to guard the strategic location of Xuzhou. With such an obvious disparity, Wang Mingzhang knew that it was impossible to defend Teng County with them alone. But the brave men broke their wrists, fearless, and they were here, and they would not back down a single step. Waiting for Tombaugh's reinforcements to arrive. Since March 14, the Japanese army has launched countless offensives against our army guarding TengXian County. This army was the elite of the Japanese army. Wang Mingzhang received news from Sun Zhen that a group of troops from Tangbu had arrived at Lincheng, and follow-up troops were also coming to support. However, the battlefield changed rapidly, and the arrival of support troops was delayed. Wang Mingzhang still encouraged the soldiers: swear to die to protect Teng County! Together with all of you, I will guard this place, and the city will be in me, and the city will perish.
The few remaining soldiers responded to Wang Mingzhang's words. Qi Qi shouted: "Swear to die to protect Teng County!" Hundreds of soldiers shouted out the momentum of tens of thousands of people. The sound reached the ears of the Japanese troops outside. The Japanese admired that they could hold on so hard, but also hated being trapped here and not being able to advance.
In the four days they held the city, they had killed more than 2,000 Japanese troops. But the soldiers around him also died one by one. Wang Mingzhang no longer had any hope of living at this time. He sent a telegram to Sun Zhen: determined to fight to the death to repay the country. This also became Wang Mingzhang's desperate book.

On the afternoon of the 17th, the Japanese army launched a fierce attack again. Wang Mingzhang was shot several times in his body, and the blood from the wound could not be covered. He refused the soldiers who came to his rescue, knowing that he was now at the end of the crossbow. He said to the soldiers: Leave me alone, go and fight the Japanese army, I died on the battlefield, killed so many Japanese troops, I am very happy, I have no regrets!
This sentence also became Wang Mingzhang's last sentence before his death.
After Wang Mingzhang's sacrifice, Teng County failed to hold it. However, it greatly dealt a blow to the arrogance of the Japanese army, boosted the morale of our army, and earned enough time for the future victory of Taierzhuang. The remaining soldiers in Teng County sacrificed themselves heroically by throwing bombs at each other. Wang Mingzhang's aide-de-camp removed Wang Mingzhang's personal documents and some things that could prove his identity, in order to prevent the Japanese army from discovering Wang Mingzhang, which also allowed Wang Mingzhang's remains to be preserved.
The news of Wang Mingzhang's heroic sacrifice soon reached Chiang Kai-shek's ears, and he was deeply saddened and asked Sun Zhen to transport Wang Mingzhang's body out. When Wang Mingzhang's body was found, 9 days had passed. The body was already decaying, and the face could not tell whether it was Wang Mingzhang or not. So the searchers first placed the body in a nearby cemetery for temporary storage.
They removed one of the remains' teeth, which was a gold tooth that Wang Mingzhang had a bad tooth. Later, it was confirmed that the body was indeed Master Wang Mingzhang. At this time, the body was already miserable, the wounds were mixed with the mud, and a blur of flesh and blood was blurred. After the body was transported out, Li Zongren personally guarded the spirit of Wang Mingzhang.
Wang Mingzhang must be buried as soon as possible, and he cannot put it down like this anymore. Li Zongren personally went to the coffin shop, which is the largest coffin shop in Xuzhou. The matter of guarding Teng County has spread slightly among the people, and the owner of the coffin shop learned that he was looking for a coffin for Wang Mingzhang, and immediately released the coffin that he had been passed down for many years.

The boss said that ZuShang made coffins: this big coffin, made of Nan wood, was originally intended for the emperor to use, because there was no vermilion paint, the emperor did not use it, and it has been kept until now. On the coffin are written four words: 'King of the Coffin', King of the Middle, and in turn, not among the kings. The bell of the king, among the kings, is not a coincidence that there is no book. Therefore, Li Zongren bought the coffin, but the boss still refused to accept the money, only saying that it was dedicated to the hero.

On May 9, Wang Mingzhang's coffin arrived in Wuhan. The people of Wuhan who learned the news came to mourn. The leaders of the CPC Central Committee sent a message to the communist party: Fighting to defend an isolated city and treating death as a homecoming is the true color of revolutionary soldiers. The generals of the New Fourth Army called Wang Mingzhang the light of the nation. Chiang Kai-shek posthumously awarded Wang Mingzhang the title of general and inscribed a plaque for him, which read: "National Glory", "Death Heavy Taishan", "Liebi Suiyang".
After Wang Mingzhang's coffin was transported back to Sichuan, the people of Xindu County held a grand ceremony to welcome him. The death of a hero, like the collapse of Tarzan, shakes people's hearts. After Wang Mingzhang's wife, Ye Yahua, saw the coffin, she couldn't believe it for a long time until she saw the golden tooth. She cried uncontrollably, and he just left.

Perhaps because of the influence of the single family, perhaps because of the great blow he suffered in his youth, or perhaps because of the indifferent side of his father's personality, Wang Daogang had no interest in the world, became a monk in the New North Temple, and gave himself a legal name: Kaiyin.
In 1984, the Sichuan provincial government posthumously recognized Wang Mingzhang as a revolutionary martyr. In the same year, the Ministry of Civil Affairs issued a martyr's certificate to Wang Mingzhang's subordinates. The following year, Xindu District rebuilt the Wang Mingzhang Martyrs Cemetery. Since then, people have come to worship. The anti-Japanese hero Wang Mingzhang sacrificed heavier than Mount Tai and was a heroic martyr of the nation!
