Guo Rongrong, female, born in 1955, from Fushan County, Shandong Province, member of the Communist Party of China, joined the army in September 1974, subordinate to the film team of the Political Department of the 162nd Division of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In February 1979, he was killed in the battle of self-defense and counterattack against Vietnam at the age of 24, and was honored with a third-class meritorious service.
In 1974, Guo Rongrong at this time was old enough to enlist in the army; For the ideals and beliefs in her heart, at the age of 19, she signed up for the army and was successfully selected as a literary soldier. During the 1976 performance, she fainted on stage due to low blood sugar and was sent to the hospital, and even with such physical conditions, she still begged the doctor the next day to let her be discharged from the hospital to continue participating in the performance; She became a film projectionist in 1978, she left the stage due to work needs, and she was surprisingly quick to adapt to her new job. In the past, everyone else had to have a headache, she eliminated it in three clicks and two clicks, and in September of that year, Guo Rongrong joined the Communist Party of China.
In 1979, Guo Rongrong's unit received an order to participate in the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam, and the unit was on standby in the Xiadong area of Longzhou County, Guangxi, and Guo Rongrong was assigned to work in the wounded martyr group; Her enthusiasm for her work is as good as ever, and she is no exception when she goes into battle, always leading the way in building anti-gun holes, finding water, and caring for wounded soldiers.
The front-line wounded martyrs team lacked manpower, so she escorted the martyrs and worked almost continuously for more than ten hours a day so that other comrades could get better rest. She still does a very good job in the wounded team, knowing when to come to the wounded, when to provide medical care and registration.
At that time, the 162nd Division joined the battle from Shuikou Pass in Guangxi on February 19, 1979, bravely crossed the Pingjiang River, opened the highway, and went straight to Gaoping, advancing all the way.
Guo Rongrong's wounded martyrs' group went to the front line on February 26 to carry out the task of containing the wounded and the remains of martyrs, and they picked up the martyrs and were raided by the Vietnamese army on the way home; The road was winding, the terrain was very complicated, and there were many trees on both sides of the road, and the Vietnamese army often attacked vehicles in ambushes in the mountains and forests.
Although Guo Rongrong's wounded martyr group transported wounded soldiers and martyrs in the rear, it was no less dangerous than meeting the enemy at the front. In the afternoon of the same day, Guo Rongrong and the comrades of the wounded martyrs' group carried the martyrs' bodies onto the car; On the way up the road, he was ambushed by Vietnamese troops. In the fierce fire of the enemy fire points on three sides, Guo Rongrong was unfortunately shot and killed.
The accompanying soldiers quickly reacted to this sudden battle, they took the remaining medical staff and the seriously injured out of the car to find cover, the situation was critical and could not take care of Guo Rongrong's body, only listened to the car "boom" explosion, Guo Rongrong's body also turned to ashes with the burning of the car.
She dedicated her young life to the loyal motherland, she was also the first female soldier to die in the self-defense counterattack against Vietnam, when the news of Guo Rongrong's sacrifice spread in the troops, it further inspired the soldiers' determination to fight, and everyone vowed to avenge Guo Rongrong; After Guo Rongrong's death, the Political Department of the division posthumously awarded her a third-class merit and posthumously recognized her as a martyr, and in 1979, her ashes were buried in the Longzhou Martyrs' Cemetery in Guangxi; Years later, Guo Rongrong's tombstone was moved back to his hometown of Fushan Martyrs' Cemetery in Shandong.
