Friends generally introduced that the spotted fish dog often appears on the shore on the side of Jiangxin Island, and from time to time it will fly to the wetland pond on the opposite bank to hunt for small fish, then it will hover there, which is the best time for everyone to shoot birds.
The first time I heard about the spotted fish dog was with another Yunnan friend in Zhongshan Cuiheng Village, the friend used the telescope to see it from a distance, but I did not see it, and thought that the spotted fish dog was a kingfisher. Later, I went to Daze Lake in Changsha with my friends, and finally observed the spotted fish dog at close range, and took pictures of the spotted fish dog from a distance. Hearing that I could photograph the spotted fish dog at close range, I decided to use the time available for saturday to send my children to training and stop by Foshan to shoot birds. I mobilized my wife to go with me, and my wife was moved by me and gladly decided to go.
Departing on Saturday morning, the road network to Foshan is very developed, which can be described as a road from Guangzhou to Foshan. The parking lot next to the wetland park is very large, there are many parking spaces, and it is rare that there is free parking. According to the introduction of friends, we quickly found the boardwalk, and in the distance we saw three long-focal length cameras on the boardwalk, and from their equipment, we knew that they were senior "old birds".
After meeting up with a few bird friends on the boardwalk, asking about the "bird condition" of the spotted fish dog, several birds who arrived early pointed to a long strip of Jiangxin Island in the Tanzhou waterway, informed the location of the spotted fish dog, and quickly used my 400 focal length camera to shoot, only to take a black and white blurry photo of the spotted fish dog. Observed with the camera, several spotted fish dogs chased back and forth around a ridge on the opposite bank, occasionally fishing, probably due to rain, the water of the main channel is yellow, and the river surface is much wider.
In the time I waited for the spotted fish dog, I began to search along the sides of the boardwalk for other birds, the first to appear was a yellow-bellied wren warbler, the wet feathers after the rain were still wet, looking timidly ahead.
On the upper side of the boardwalk, flocks of white-throated red-rumped plovers stand on different branches, drying their feathers that have just been wet by light rain. On the side of the park next to the riverbank there are many relatively tall trees, a few black-collared starlings occasionally skim over the waterways, and their feathers are a bit like spotted fish dogs.
The trail is about 50 meters away from the Tanzhou waterway, from time to time on the waterway there are small egrets, great egrets flying by, small white egrets and great egrets are difficult to distinguish, the two photos taken below, the first photo has a small feather on the head, sure to be an egret, the second picture, due to its neck curled up, can not see whether the head has a handful of feathers, so it is more difficult to identify, it is estimated to be a great egret. The feathers of the wings of these heron birds are white and flawless, and they are pleasing to the eye.
Occasionally, night herons flew by the waterway, and the night herons and the great egret flew in a similar posture, both shrinking their heads into a ball, gray feathers, beaks, heads, and backs of a slip of black, in colloquial terms, hunched over, and the small egret elegant and flowing, far from each other.
Because today's weather is not very good, just rained in the morning, the sky is still full of clouds, it seems to be more gloomy, from time to time there will be drizzle, almost waited for more than an hour, or did not wait for the other side of the waterway spotted fish dog, about 12:00 noon, the sky began to drizzle again, a brown-backed Burao, quietly standing on the wooden handrail of the boardwalk, maybe it is thinking about how to deal with these small raindrops, is to leave here to hide, or wait and see, in case the rain only stops for a little while, maybe a slow rain will pass.
My wife and I had to leave the boardwalk to prepare for the return trip, and on the way back to the parking lot, the light rain turned into a heavy rain, and fortunately we all brought umbrellas. There were many camellias planted around the parking lot, and my wife photographed with great interest in the rain, and her attentive look was better than when we photographed birds.
The camellias here are just an ordinary green plant that is used as a parking lot to isolate the parking spaces, although it is not as bright as the stars and lushness of the camellias in the Kunming Botanical Garden in Yunnan, but it also embellishes the various parking spaces, which are more delicate and delicate in the rain.
At about 12:30 p.m., we started to get on the bus and return. It is already meal time, although it does not feel hungry, but the time has come, the instinct still wants to find a place to eat, binjiang wetland park near the current new development zone, the surrounding newly developed real estate a lot, but there are very few people staying, after driving around the cruise, did not find any suitable restaurants.
So I suggested that my wife go to Foshan's Shunde district to eat "Cow Show Pot Rice", which had been broadcast on CCTV's "China on the Tip of the Tongue" program, so the fire broke out. I once passed through Foshan twice with my friends, ready to eat this pot rice, because the time was not grasped, twice, it was a little more than two o'clock at noon, a question to the boss, all sold out and closed, twice want to eat and can not. It takes about 40 minutes from Binjiang Wetland Park to the cow show pot rice, and it is predicted that there should be enough time to arrive at the dinner place before two o'clock.

This is the old town of Shunde, thanks to the strong development of Shunde's economy, the infrastructure construction is very good, there is a small civic square - Daliang Dangui Park, under the parking lot. After searching everywhere for a while, I finally found the door number of the cow show pot rice at the corner of the intersection.
This is a slightly dilapidated old street shop, the storefront is about 3 meters wide, barely able to set up two rows of small square tables, each table can only accommodate the next 4 people, the interior is slightly wider. The glass door of the storefront is impressively posted with notices of only accepting cash, paying first and then eating a few white characters on a red background, which is now commonly posted on WeChat and Alipay payments.
The wife stepped forward to ask if she could pay by mobile phone, and a slightly fat middle-aged woman stood in front of the small table in front of the store and said flatly that she only accepted cash, paid first and then ate, so she had to return to the parking lot to get cash.
The wife ordered a fish and pork pot rice, the clerk first put on a small bowl of soup, but also could not eat any taste, about half an hour or so, our pot rice came, the rice is burned blackened clay pot, the portion is very sufficient, a lid open, a stream of rice mixed with lard and fish meat of the fresh flavor, the nose, quickly spooned a small spoon with a spoon to taste.
It may be that in recent years, I have eaten more, but I do not feel that there is anything very prominent and special, the main feature is that the rice is moderately hard, just right, the cap of the fish, the taste is particularly fresh, to use a sentence to summarize the characteristics is "fresh, fragrant, very good restoration of the original taste of the food."
I feel that the key to making a good meal is to get the ingredients right. Overall, to Foshan, if there is enough time, it is a good choice to eat a good and inexpensive "cow exhibition pot rice" in Shunde, but be sure to go according to the normal meal, too late to eat, and remember to bring cash.
