Black Buck is a variety that I started about three or four years ago. At that time, buying the moon season was also a curiosity, and I always had to pick some varieties that looked special. Its blossom is indeed very special, black and red velvet texture, just like that noble feeling of the rich and broad. Last year, this variety suddenly exploded, and I actually didn't understand it, because the black buck is very poorly branched, the resistance is average, the flowers are not large, and it is difficult to open that standard deep cup flower type.
In the monthly season, there are currently no pure black varieties. The black moon season we are talking about is mostly black-red or black-purple, and they will only bloom close to black under specific conditions (such as low temperature), generally the original dark red or deep purple, so flower friends who have not raised should not expect too high a value (many business pictures can only be for reference). Of course, in addition to Black Buck, there are also some black monthly varieties that are also very good, let's take a look together!
1. Black Magic (1966, France)
Black magic is an old variety, the color is also black and red, the flower diameter can reach 10-14cm, which is larger than black buck. The color of the flowers gradually transitions from dark red to black red from the inside out, which is very layered. Deep cup flower type, high center flowering, with velvety petals, noble and elegant. Its single flower period is long, and it is great to cut into a bottle!

The black magic plant is 80-100cm tall, grows quickly, and has strong branches. It is heat-resistant and cold-resistant, and has strong disease resistance. However, there are more thorns, easy to be infected with mold, thick petals are obviously affected by diseases and pests, and may be black-edged rotten.
2. Black Caviar (1997, Germany)
Black Caviar, also known as Sleepless Nights, Mrs. Hardenberg. It is a deep purplish-red, blackish-purple lunar season. When I first entered the moon season, there were many flower friends of this variety. Because it not only has a unique color, but also fights disease and is suitable for novices. But I didn't choose it in the end, because it is not suitable for balconies, the plant generally grows to 1.2-1.5 meters, and the leaves are also the type that red spiders like (my balcony red spiders are rampant, and they can take two bites with long leaves). But I'm going to have one in my dad's yard.

The flowers of black caviar have black or purple edges and red hearts. The flower diameter can reach more than 10cm, cup-shaped flower, many petals and a thick black velvety feeling. It has a strong lemon scent and won the Concorso Gold Award for Best Perfume in Rome.

Black caviar has good flowering ability, frequent flowers, and a relatively large amount of flowers when blooming. 3. Black Beauty (1998, Germany)
I personally think that Black Buck is very similar to Black Beauty, but it is darker than Black Beauty. Black Beauty was bred by Cordes and introduced to China in 2006. Its overall color is dark red to black, the flower size is similar to that of Black Barker, and the flower diameter is 8-10cm. The cup-shaped flowers are delicate and unique, and the petals also have a velvety sheen.

Black beauty can also bloom repeatedly for multiple seasons, with good flowering and fast reflowering speed, and has a sense of luxury when opening. It is 80-100cm tall and has fewer spines, making it suitable for potted plants.
4. Haywood (2007, UK)
Blackwood, aka Manchester. Wood. Because of its black-red color, it is distinguished from another pink fairy, "Pink Wood" (Waiki Wood). In fact, Black Wood is not black, but deep crimson. It's David. Austin's recommended variety won the 2010 Tokyo Rose Silver Medal and Best Scent Award, and the 2011 Portland Rose Best Shrub Season in the United States.

The black wood flower color will bloom from light crimson to velvety deep red, the flower diameter can reach more than 10cm, and it has a strong fragrance. It is festive, hardy and shade-tolerant, and highly resistant to disease. It grows relatively fast, the branches are relatively soft, and it can be irrigated by vines. 5. Hacking (2010, France)
Hackers, also known as black gold, are a variety of the French Meon family. Although it is not as dark as Black Buck, the color of the petals is very distinctive. The overall color of the flower is dark red, the petals are dark red on the front and light yellow on the back, this multi-colored petal is very recognizable.

Hackers are also large flowers in the moon season, with flower diameters of more than 10 cm and a light fragrance. It is more diligent and has good disease resistance. The high cup flower type is more resistant to opening, but it is not heat-resistant, and it is easy to open and turn over in summer, Guangdong dissuades, after all, Guangdong summer is half a year bottom.
6. Black Whirlwind (1963, China)
Before the comment area, some flower friends said why not write the national month. In fact, it is not that the national month is bad, but the number of horticultural varieties currently circulating in the national month is far less than that of the European month, and some varieties cannot even find information. And the variety I can grow on the balcony is also limited, and I dare not comment on it if I don't know it. Recently, I looked for the black moon season, and just found this variety of our national month. Black Whirlwind, also called Black Xuanfeng, is a nursery in Hangzhou hybrid cultivation, the mother is inky red, the father is white carat.

The black whirlwind is clearly different from the above 5 imported varieties, its flowers are bright red at first, and will gradually turn black in the later stage, and the petals have a velvety light. The flower diameter is 9-12 cm, and the flowers are multi-headed. There is no fragrance, but repeated flowering in multiple seasons, good branching, semi-erect growth, strong disease resistance, good adaptability. However, there are not many pictures and planting experience available on the Internet for this variety, and there are very few nurseries to breed, which is basically difficult to buy. I hope that there will be more horticulturists and flower friends in the future to carry forward our national month.
