December 14, 2020, Playa Larga, Cuba, a small crocodile hatched from an egg. These newborn crocodiles are part of a conservation species prevention population decline program. When they first hatched, these Cuban crocodiles were only 30 centimeters long, but when they were then released into the wild, they would grow to 2 meters long. The photos were taken by Savannah Boan in the Criadoro de Cocodrilos Reserve, where 500 to 700 baby crocodiles are hatched each year.
