Giant pandas have frequent activities, and love has a "magpie bridge"
In the infrared camera of the bee barrel village area of Baoxing County in the Giant Panda National Park, a set of interesting pictures was captured. In the picture, a wild giant panda walks in front and another giant panda is behind, and the movements of the two giant pandas are very similar.
In the Yingjing area of Ya'an Xingjing area of Sichuan Province of Giant Panda National Park, a wild giant panda sits comfortably, sometimes playing in the mud, sometimes dozing, like a playful "bear child". In another scene, a muscular wild giant panda "circles" a tree trunk with its hips.
It is reported that since January this year, infrared cameras have repeatedly taken videos and photos of giant pandas smelling and marking. In addition, interesting images of wild animals such as black bears, yellow-throated martens, black-necked cranes, red-bellied horned pheasants, and hairy-crowned deer were also captured.

Then they will frequently go to places with ridges and large trees, communicate with each other by smearing or urine, and then inform other pandas that they can participate in this kind of search object.
In order to enable wild pandas to better communicate and play friends, the Giant Panda National Park in the Ya'an Xingjing Area of Sichuan has also built a "love corridor" for wild giant pandas.
Fu Mingxia, head of scientific research and monitoring of Xingjing County Management and Protection Station of Giant Panda National Park: In 2014, Xingjing began to focus on building this muddy mountain corridor, which is what we call this love corridor, is to allow the wild giant pandas in the Daxiangling Mountain system to migrate, and there is a certain communication and exchange between the giant panda population of the Qionglai Mountain system, we vividly call this corridor a love corridor, so that the giant pandas of the two mountain systems can breed the next generation through this way of finding objects. In this way, it will ensure the long-term survival of this small population in our Daxiangling Mountain System.
With the continuous restoration of the ecological environment, the population of giant pandas and their habitat area have achieved continuous recovery growth, so that giant pandas can communicate and reproduce more freely here.
In spring, the investigation and monitoring of giant panda populations in the wild began
Spring is the season of heavy panda activity. Not long ago, the staff of the Xingjing County Management and Protection Station of the Giant Panda National Park started the spring giant panda wild population survey and monitoring work, through sample line investigation and infrared camera monitoring to better understand the ecological habits and population status of wild giant pandas.
In the process of wild panda population investigation, Song Xinqiang and his team members will look for traces of giant panda activities while walking, such as bite marks left by giant pandas eating bamboo, hair left by rubbing on trees, traces of giant pandas lying down, caves used by giant pandas to give birth, and giant panda feces, etc., through these, to understand the population size and activity patterns of wild giant pandas.
It is understood that the mainland wild giant pandas are mainly distributed in Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu. Nibashan Giant Panda Corridor is an important habitat for giant panda populations in the Daxiangling Mountain System, and is also an important passage connecting the giant panda populations in the Qionglai Mountain System and the Daxiangling Mountain System, where the main food of giant pandas such as August bamboo and cold arrow bamboo is distributed, which is an ideal habitat for giant pandas. In recent years, with the construction of the corridor, giant pandas have been monitored to frequent the area.
Song Xinqiang, scientific research and monitoring officer of Xingjing County Management and Protection Station of Giant Panda National Park: There are some bamboo leaves on it, if we take it back now, the main thing is to measure its bite joint, that is, the length of the bamboo pole it eats, according to this length, and then according to the distance between several pieces of feces, you can estimate how many giant pandas are active in this area.
By collecting bite joints in panda feces, staff can judge the nuances of individual pandas based on characteristics such as tooth width. Since 2017, through the investigation and monitoring of the wild population of giant pandas, the Xingjing County Management and Protection Station of Giant Panda National Park has monitored 14 wild giant pandas, as well as more than 60 species of companion animals such as forest musk deer and takin.
Fu Mingxia, head of scientific research and monitoring of Xingjing County Management and Protection Station of Giant Panda National Park: At present, we have deployed nearly 300 infrared cameras in the field, from 2017 to now, we have collected nearly 600,000 pieces of data, we have built a database of infrared cameras, and saved all the collected materials together, and carried out research on giant pandas in the future, in addition, you can also do some other animal research, because giant pandas are an umbrella species. A series of studies have been carried out on the species diversity of other wild animals in the giant panda habitat.
Through the investigation and monitoring of giant panda wild populations in recent years, it is found that the giant pandas have sufficient food and their habitat environment has been significantly improved. In addition, the Ya'an area of the Giant Panda National Park will continue to strengthen the protection of other wild animals and plants to ensure that the ecological environment here continues to improve.
