Daglish: Thank you Henderson for being signed to Liverpool by me, he's the competent captain who led the whole team forward

According to liverpool's official website, June 9 is the 10th anniversary of Henderson's joining Liverpool. The then manager kenny Daglish, who brought him from Sunderland to Anfield in 2011 and legendary Liverpool "king", gave the Reds captain a high opinion in the documentary "Henderson: How champions are made" (which will premiere tonight at 7pm London time) on Liverpool's official television.

Asked how to sum up Henderson's decade at Liverpool and what he has accomplished, Daglish laughed. The Scots said, "Well, he's just a 'primary school apprentice,' isn't he?" He's going to be here for years! Seriously, as a footballer, what he has done during this time will make him deeply proud! I mean, the Club World Cup winner – liverpool has never won an honour before, he got it; he won the Champions League, he got it; and he won the domestic league title for the club that hasn't been won in 30 years, and he's the captain who led the team forward. ”

"He did lead his teammates, leading them on the pitch. He takes his role very seriously and does a great job. So, I just hope he can stick with it for a few more years. He still has an unfinished career ahead of him, and there are many trophies waiting for him to win. Jordan (Henderson), thank you for deciding to sign with Liverpool! ”

In July 2020, Dalglish witnessed Klopp's side win england's top flight for the first time in 30 years and the first Premier League title in its history. That night he was also the guest of honor, handing the trophy to the junior Henderson. Recalling that night, Daglish said: "The protagonist should not be me, it should be Klopp, the lads and the incredible season they played. They won the Premier League that night, but before that they had already won the Champions League and the Club World Cup. So, for the players, the months of winning all this must have been tough. ”

"For Jordan, he ended up holding the cup; for me, it was just the privilege of being there to witness that moment. It's true that I'm proud, I'll be proud anyway, but I'm not important. I wasn't the protagonist of that night, just giving out trophies. I feel like I've done a good job and I'm very proud. ”

"And for Jordan, lifting the league title must make him very proud, I am proud of him, and I am honored to be presenting medals and trophies on the spot."
