In 1943, Zhang Guang was transferred to the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region and continued his education at the Second Normal School. During this period, he participated in the Yan'an rectification and large-scale production movement, and was organized and arranged to go to the Guanzhong Prefectural Committee and the Special Office to print documents and primary school textbooks, and then transferred to the journalism class of Yan'an University to study. The farewell ceremony for the remains of Comrade Zhang Guang was held

In 1948, Zhang Guang worked at the Shaandong branch of Xinhua News Agency

During the revolutionary war years, Comrade Zhang Guang risked his life to go deep into the front line and write selflessly; during the period of socialist revolution and construction, he objectively and truthfully reported on the achievements in construction on all fronts with full political enthusiasm; during the period of reform and opening up, he emancipated his mind, made decisive policy decisions, and actively advocated and shouted for the commodity economy, the market economy, and reform and opening up. In news business, Comrade Zhang Guang advocated "truthfulness, shortness, speed, liveliness, and strength," that is, news must be true, every draft must be short and concise, and the newspaper must be seen quickly, and the draft must have living facts, be ideological, and give people inspiration; attach importance to newspaper remarks, advocate comments that have something to say and hit the point; open up reporting areas and take the lead in collecting and writing social news; and carry out policy propaganda in a targeted manner in a hurry of the masses. With a strong sense of responsibility and mission, he actively called for the protection of cultural relics such as the Xi'an City Wall and advocated the development of cultural tourism.

Comrade Zhang Guang used his own practical actions to inherit the red gene. With the support of his family, he donated the cotton jackets, belts, saddles, etc. used by the revolutionary martyr Liu Zhidan during his lifetime, as well as revolutionary cultural relics such as press cards and gun licenses he held during the war years, to the Military Museum of the Chinese Revolution and the Yan'an News Memorial Hall. After his retirement, Comrade Zhang Guang still showed great concern for the construction of his hometown and the old revolutionary areas, the development of the party's journalism, especially the various undertakings of the Shaanxi Daily, and encouraged young journalists to inherit traditions, blaze new trails, adhere to the viewpoint of the masses, and always maintain their political true colors. Despite his old age and infirmity, he self-financed the lintong jiaokou revolution memorial hall in his hometown, which became a patriotic education base for local teenagers. He and his wife Liu Lizhen built a cement road for their hometown at their own expense, solving the problem of villagers' travel difficulties; actively rushed to the construction of the old areas in northern Shaanxi and the cause of poverty alleviation, and made suggestions and suggestions, built two dams for the old areas of northern Shaanxi, and prepared a number of hope primary schools. He edited a series of books, "Shaanxi Newspapers and Periodicals", as well as "Liu Zhidan Picture Album" and "Collected Writings in Memory of Liu Zhidan", and reviewed four historical books in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region. He was hard-working, simple, diligent and thrifty, and always said that "suffering losses is a blessing, and one cannot be preoccupied with one's life." This embodies the lofty style and lofty realm of an old Communist Party member.

Comrade Zhang Guang has successively served as a member of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a director of the All-China Journalists Association, the vice president of the China 3S (Snow, Smedley, Strong) Research Association, the chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Journalists Association, the president of the Provincial Press Photo Society, and the director of the Provincial Journalism Senior Title Evaluation Committee. In November 1983, he was awarded the title of "National Outstanding Journalist" and in December 1987, he was awarded the title of Senior Journalist. In 1991, he was awarded the title of Special Contribution Expert by the State Council. In September 2015, he was awarded the commemorative medal of "70th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression" issued by the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and the Central Military Commission.

Comrade Zhang Guang's ideals and beliefs are firm, whether in good times or bad times, for more than 70 years as a day, he has not forgotten his original intention and kept his mission in mind. He was loyal to the party and the people, supported the party's line, principles, and policies, and supported reform and opening up; dared to uphold principles, dared to carry out criticism and self-criticism; was conscientious and responsible, dared to shoulder heavy responsibilities; sought truth from facts, was sincere in being a person, cared for and united comrades; was enthusiastic about public welfare undertakings, and actively participated in social activities; worked tirelessly all his life, writing more than 3 million words of news newsletters, speeches, and biographies of people, which were deeply loved by readers; strict self-discipline, honesty and honesty, clear love and hatred, and honor and honesty, with the noble character of communists. He fulfilled his vow to fight for the party all his life. Entering the new era, Comrade Zhang Guang conscientiously studied Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the Eighteenth and Nineteenth National Congresses of the Party, strictly demanded himself according to the standards of party members and leading cadres, enhanced the "four consciousnesses", strengthened the "four self-confidences", resolutely achieved the "two safeguards", and always maintained the political essence of communists.

Comrade Zhang Guang devoted his life to the party's news and propaganda cause. With his passing, we have lost an old party member, an old predecessor, and a loyal journalistic fighter. We must turn grief into strength, inherit his cause, closely unite around the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, hold high the great banner of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, closely catch up with and surpass the positioning, practice the "five solid" requirements, never forget the original intention, keep in mind the mission, and strive to build a well-off society in an all-round way and realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
