In the history of the General Staff Department, Yan Zhongchuan should be the most junior among the vice chiefs. Among the previous deputy commanders, he was the first to rank among the deputy commanders with the rank of colonel. But his career was like a rainbow, and he was in the prime of life, and suddenly fell silent.

Speaking of Yan Zhongchuan, he followed his brother to participate in the revolution at the age of 15. At that time, he was also a little literate, after graduating from primary school, through hard work to be admitted to the publicly-funded Baoding Industrial Vocational School, he was arrested by the national army on the way to report, and followed the withdrawn troops to the south, because he carried more than ten miles on his shoulders and was thin, and he was released. In June 1938, his brother took him to the local armed forces. Later, this unit was incorporated under the jurisdiction of the Central Hebei Military Region.

After a short period of training, he took up staff work at the headquarters of the military region, where he remained for 33 years. He rose all the way from a small staff officer to deputy chief of operations, section chief, deputy chief of operations of the military region, chief of section, deputy director of the operations department, minister, deputy chief of staff and chief of staff of the military region.

In 1969, he was promoted to deputy director, and at this time he was only 47 years old, and his career was like a rainbow and he was in the prime of life. No one expected that more than two years later, because of the 913 incident, he would suddenly fall silent and be isolated and censored for 7 and a half years.

Also sharing his fate is his old father-in-law, Sun Jishu, who also suddenly fell silent in his career and prime of life.

Sun Jishu was born in 1911, only 11 years older than Yan Zhongchuan.

He is a native of Northeast China, graduated from Shenyang Telegraph School at the age of 18 and worked as a newspaper operator in Shenyang Telegraph Bureau, with a monthly salary of 80 yuan and now Ocean. According to the prices at that time, life was definitely more than enough food and clothing. In 1931, after the "918" incident, he resolutely left Shenyang with his family and went to Tianjin, where he worked as a typist and radio operator in the Tianjin Telegraph Bureau.

In 1937, the "July Seven" incident also fell, and in order to support his family, he went south to Hankou to continue working in the telegraph office. It was here that I came across progressive publications and developed the belief of devoting myself to the anti-Japanese resistance. So, prepare to go to Yan'an. After passing through Xi'an, the Northeast Rescue Association contacted the office of the Eighth Route Army in Xi'an and went to Yan'an on foot. In addition to the general theory of military and political affairs, he also had basic courses on Marxism-Leninism, such as philosophy and the history of the United Communist Party.

After graduating in 1940, he was transferred to the Central Hebei Military Region and served as a communications staff officer of the three sections of the headquarters. There are two reasons why he was transferred to work in Jizhong. His direct second team in Kang Da is the Dongan Team, that is, the Northeast Cadre Force, all of whom are Northeasterners. And the Central Hebei Military Region is under the leadership of Lu Zhengcao, many people are also northeasterners, it is more convenient to work, and they also lack communication talents here.

At this time, Sun Jishu and Yan Zhongchuan were acquainted. In terms of seniority, the young Yan Zhongchuan joined the revolution a year before him.

In 1942, Sun Jishu was transferred to the headquarters of the Jin-Cha-Ji Military Region as a communications staff officer and leader of the in-service newspaper training team. And Yan Zhongchuan and Lü Zhengcao went to work in the Jinsui Military Region.

Although separated, their "fate" is still there.

In October 1945, the Third Bureau of the Central Military Commission sent Sun Jishu from Yan'an to the northeast and was assigned to serve as the deputy chief of the third section at the headquarters of the Western Manchurian Military Region. And Yan Zhongchuan and Lu Zhengcao also went to the northeast at this time.

After that, Yan Zhongchuan served as a staff officer at the headquarters of the Northeast Democratic Alliance Army, Sun Jishu worked in the local area under the jurisdiction of Western Manchuria, Qiqihar City was liberated, Sun Jishu led his troops into the city, and took over the Qicheng Postal, Telecommunications and Electricity Bureau, and began local work.

According to the needs of his work, he successively served as deputy director of the General Bureau of Investigation of the Ximan Post and Telecommunications Administration, director of the Harbin City Telecommunications Bureau, director of the Shenyang Telecommunications Bureau, and deputy director of the Northeast General Administration of Posts and Telecommunications.

After the founding of New China, he suddenly fell silent when his career was like a rainbow and he was in the prime of life. It turned out that he was imprisoned because of the "special suspicion" problem. The crime was: Before liberation, those who could work as newspaper operators in the post and telecommunications department of the Kuomintang were either "military unification" or "central unification"; It was his close comrades-in-arms, who were born and died with him, and although the review found no problems for two years, he left his beloved communications business in pain.

The two of them, who have similar fates in life, did not expect to become Weng son-in-law after the founding of New China.
