Being an actor is a natural choice

Xie Qijun studied in the Department of Chinese Drama at the Chinese Culture University, and because he liked Peking Opera from the bottom of his heart, he practiced hard for the exam and was quite accomplished in opera. During his college years, he not only starred in many Peking operas such as "Picking Jade Bracelet" and "Shilang Visiting Mother", but also played the role of Eight Immortals Han Zhong Li in the song boy drama "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea". After graduation, he chose to sign an acting company and embarked on his own path as an actor.

LADY: You studied chinese drama, so what made you an actor?

Xie Qijun: In fact, when I first went to school, everyone would work around, purely wanting to work to earn money. At that time, there were a lot of brothers and sisters in our department who were doing film and television industry, because I was the president of the student council at the time, and I may be more active in the school, and I began to try to shoot dramas under the recommendation of my brothers and sisters, and then signed the company. I probably got into this line of things quite logically (laughs). Originally, when I was in school, there were also teachers from the Yu Opera Troupe who wanted to ask me to join the troupe, but because I was already about to sign an acting company at that time, I did not enter the troupe. If I hadn't signed the contract at that time, I might have gone to the traditional opera industry today. In fact, the achievements that can be achieved as an actor and the traditional opera are not the same, I originally studied Peking Opera, I was a singing student, and it was very real-time to get the support of the audience and the applause given to you on the stage. If you make a TV series, it is very important to think about whether you can control this role and whether you can play him well, and the support given to you by the audience when the drama is broadcast will be reflected in the ratings, which is what I think is different from the two.

LADY: At that time, you really liked Peking Opera from the bottom of your heart, and practiced hard for the exam, can you talk about some memorable things about this experience?

Xie Qijun: Every time we report on the results, we must perform, it is easier to be injured when practicing, like some of our students are flipped down from two tables, if they are not careful, their legs may break, in fact, there will be many such dangers. So it's actually very difficult for opera actors. The elders of the older generation said: "If you don't practice for three days, the audience doesn't know, they know; if they don't practice for a month, the experts who watch under the stage know; if they don't practice for more than three months, all the skills they learn will be lost." "Therefore, opera actors are actually a special test of basic skills.

Experiences and insights of acting life

Talking about his first entry into the acting industry, Xie Qijun recounted his initial difficulties and unforgettable experiences. As a young actor in Taiwan, he has come to the mainland to shoot dramas for many years, and he also has a lot of understanding of his acting life.

LADY: Did you encounter any difficulties in entering the acting industry for the first time? How was it overcome?

Xie Qijun: In fact, when I first started filming, I really didn't encounter any big bottlenecks, because at that time, the understanding of the performance industry was relatively superficial. Until one time a play required me to play the male lead, but there were a lot of crying scenes in it, and it was a play with the predecessors, in fact, my heart was particularly eager to play him well, but I just couldn't cry. Maybe many newcomers who have just entered the industry have encountered this situation. At that time, the director, the seniors and the crew, including the photographer at the time, all came to instruct me how to act better, and then I was really anxious to cry (laughs). When everyone rejects you, in fact, your psychological pressure is really great. At that time, it was really immature, and I was very embarrassed about the directors and predecessors at that time, and since then I have been constantly trying to improve.

LADY: The mainland film and television market has always been open to Taiwan, as an entertainer who travels across the taiwan strait, how do you feel?

Xie Qijun: I am especially grateful to the country for the full opening up of Taiwan's film and television industry now, because I believe that there are also many film and television talents in Taiwan, who have great ideas, very good ideas and ideas. If we can come here, everyone will collide and communicate with each other, and we will learn from each other's strengths and integrate together, so that our film and television industry can do better. Now our film and television industry is really booming, which is why the company will arrange for me to come to the mainland to work, when I really came here, I found that the entire film and television theme here, including our shooting methods, the director's ideas, in fact, have a more international outlook and world view. So I actually hope that some film and television workers in Taiwan will be able to come to the mainland to have a look.

Break through yourself and accept contrasts and challenges

This time, Xie Qijun participated in the large-scale environmental protection movie "Oath not to compromise", and played a husband and wife with Teacher Yan Xuejing, playing a northwest farmer - Chang Shun.

For the first time in contact with film and television works with rural themes, Xie Qijun perfectly showed the contrast between the image and age and the role. In order to create this character, a lot of preparation work began before shooting. In addition to reading through the script to fully understand the character's personality, he also observed Yan Xuejing's works in advance, hoping to better show the tacit understanding between husband and wife during the performance.

LADY: This is your first time to challenge the theme of rural environmental protection, what was your original intention to appear in this play?

Xie Qijun: As an actor, I feel that this intuitive feeling I bring to the audience in the play is still a relatively superficial communication. I actually want to be able to convey something deeper to the audience. For example, why I want to shoot this environmental protection theme, now everyone's life is relatively rich and sufficient, we may consider the needs of the soul will go to the movie or listen to music, but I think environmental protection and care for society is also very important. In fact, I hope to be able to make more people face this problem through such a theme. In fact, our country has particularly beautiful mountains and rivers, and the environment is also very good, but it may be destroyed before we know these places because of some human factors. This problem actually needs our attention, treatment and improvement. So this is something that I hope to convey to the audience about this work.

LADY: In this movie, you played a northwestern farmer, whether in terms of image or age, there are huge breakthroughs and contrasts, and it is also your first contact with rural themes, have you done your homework in advance? How did you grasp and interpret this role?

Xie Qijun: Because I grew up in the countryside when I was a child, I think I basically understand the work that farmers have to do. It evokes memories of childhood, but it is not strange to me. What really needs to be prepared in advance is about the way they speak, with some idiomatic tone of sentence. When we were shooting, there were a lot of local actors and friends in the crew who came to help us, and there were many things I would ask them with the script how to read some words. This may not be the same as in our daily lives. Our local actor friend would really be very helpful to help me, marked in pinyin and read to him. And like I'm from Taiwan, maybe people will worry more about me in terms of accent. Teacher Yan is from the northeast, as well as the actors in Beijing, how we fuse our respective accents together is also a relatively big lesson. But I believe that after we do a good job, it will also be a highlight and expectation for the audience watching this film.

Drama is like life

In the upcoming TV series "Douxiang", Xie Qijun played a role that could not control his fate, and in the whole drama, he was always entangled in many emotions such as family affection, love, national righteousness, loss of power and humiliation of the country, and was a tragic character who went with the flow in the whirlpool of conspiracy. This complex character is undoubtedly a huge challenge for Xie Qijun, who is represented by a decent filial piety and has a sunny and beautiful male role.

LADY: In the TV series "Douxiang", you played a tragic character who could not control his fate, and the emotional entanglement of the characters was also more complicated, how did you grasp the feelings to interpret this role?

Xie Qijun: I have a girl I like in the play, my character at the beginning of the play can not tell whether his liking for her is sincere or false, halfway this girl died, causing my character to be grief-stricken, probably at that moment to realize their true heart. Later, he found that the people around him left him one by one, all because of the persecution in Japan, which caused the character's personality to be extremely distorted in the back. To be honest, I still enjoy such a role. That contrast and tearing feeling is really painful for the actor in the process of acting, because you have to constantly dissect your own heart. But there are some nameless pains in our hearts that may be excavated at that time, and to be honest, this feeling is very pleasant. At the end of the last scene where I was killed by the Japanese, I really cried for more than ten minutes. Then the director comforted me on the side, it was really sad, it was a heart-rending feeling, and this feeling was definitely an unforgettable and special experience as an actor.

LADY: This is the third time you have cooperated with Teacher Chen Haomin after "Datang Women's Patrol" and "Every Day you Have Joy", so let's talk about the feelings of cooperation with Teacher Chen Haomin.

Xie Qijun: Brother Haomin is a very good person, and he does not have a shelf. I used to have a stereotype of Hong Kong star, but the first time I worked with Hao Mingo, I found that he was really good at taking care of others, such as helping others lift heavy objects and so on. Why I am now very good to the staff on the set, in fact, is also influenced by Hao. A predecessor who is so famous, he can do this. Sometimes I see that some people may still need to do something, I think it is completely unnecessary, it should be more about helping each other, so that the work will be more enjoyable. I have no problem with Hao Mingge's words in terms of tacit understanding, because I am really familiar with it. Many of our seniors in the crew, such as Huang Yijie, are really very serious and strong. The serious dedication of the seniors is also a kind of supervision for me, giving me a lot of help, and playing with them can really drive my emotions very well.

Enjoy life with your heart to your heart

Different from the role played in the play, Xie Qijun in life is peaceful and indifferent, has a good popularity, and the way of dealing with people makes the people around him feel comfortable. He also enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Regarding the relationship between colleagues and friends, Xie Qijun said: "Because the crew has contacted many young actors, it is easy to get together. I may be a more careful person, when I encounter New Year, Spring Festival, Lantern Festival and other festivals, because I think the staff is also very hard, I will buy some of the small tangyuan ah delicious snacks and the like to share it with everyone, feel the warm heart. To sum up: it is always good to compare hearts with hearts and be kind to others. ”

When it comes to the understanding of family and life, Xie Qijun's expression is very happy: "I am actually a person who loves family, our family will travel together once a year, even if it is to the place where we have been before, the mood of different times will be different, and the atmosphere of the party will be different." The moments when I can be with my family are very happy times for me. ”

Finally, LADY brought some of the things Xie Qijun wanted to say to the audience, let's take a look!
