[Chen Baobao Speaks Piano] Johann Adolph Hass-John. Adolph. Haas

Johann Adolph Hass John. Adolph. Haas ( born 12 March 1713 – died 29 May 1771 ) was a harpsichord and clavichord maker active in Hamburg, Germany in the mid-18th century.

The actual piano is a square clavichord piano made in 1761, the most distinctive of which is the inside of the lid and the soundboard oil painted with oriental characteristics of Chinese theme painting, which is obviously a Western painting technique and language to express the traditional Chinese landscape garden, the picture of the distant mountains into the water pavilions and pavilions are fully displayed, a total of 8 figures, the left side of the trees under the shade of 5 people each holding a musical instrument, it has violins, wind instruments, harp is playing, on the right 3 people holding umbrellas across the bridge, the whole picture crane birds and cranes around the dotted, The characters, birds and beasts have vivid postures and strong decorative effects.

The whole soundboard is painted with floral motifs, lifelike, and when I first saw this piano, I thought of the "Flower Book" created by Lang Shining.

1761 is the 26th year of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty of China, the Qianlong Emperor is 50 years old, which is also the heyday of China, the famous Italian Lang Shining came to China since 1715, that is, entered the Ruyi Pavilion, became a court painter, he successively served as Kangxi; Yongzheng; Qianlong Three Dynasties, engaged in painting in China for more than 50 years, Lang Shining's paintings focus on Western techniques in one, and have created famous works such as "Qianlong Watching Equestrian Diagram", "Ayuxi Holding a Spear and Swinging Kou Tu", "Kazakh Gongmatu", etc., among which the "Flower Book" is less well known, but this is Lang Shining's use of Chinese soft brushes, according to Western painting perspective and light perception and other skills, showing extremely fine, three-dimensional sense, lifelike and realistic effects. Although painting alone is not on the same level and is not absolutely comparable, does the painting technique and painting language of the flower picture on this soundboard feel a bit similar? I think that the intrinsic and essential aspects of art are connected, and regional differences will continue to merge with the exchange of art.

The second is a square clavichord made in 1760; The third and fourth harpsichords were made in 1740 and 1760 respectively.
