The Hangzhou Station of the Russian Film Masters Exhibition met with the citizens of Hangzhou in mid-May

On May 15-16, 2021, the Russian Film Masters Exhibition will be launched at Hangzhou Parmeway Cinema to meet with fans in Hangzhou, and the films for screening include "War and Peace" by Russian film master Sergei Bundarchuk and two works directed by Nikita Mikhalkov, known as the "Spielberg of Russia": "Unfinished Mechanical Piano Pieces" and "A Few Days in Oblomov's Life".

The films screened at this master show are all new digital restoration versions, of which "War and Peace" is a 4K digital restoration and the other two are 2K digital restoration.

It is reported that the screening has also received a warm response and strong assistance from the Russian partner, the Moscow Film Studio, and each film is also equipped with embedded Chinese subtitles to make the viewing experience more smooth.

War and Peace, 1966

Russian film maestro Sergei Bundarchuk self-directed and self-starred masterpiece, based on Tolstoy's novel of the same name. The aristocratic young Pierre and the Duke André were good friends, the former living a luxurious life, but with a heart of gold, the latter who had participated in the war and was extremely loyal, and when the two met the noble lady Natasha, their lives changed dramatically. Won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and the Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

This screening is a 4K digital restoration copy, the film lasts up to seven hours, this screening is embedded Chinese subtitles, there are a few French, German without corresponding Chinese (i.e. no subtitles are displayed), is not a production error, because the version provided by the Moscow Film Studio is not translated.

The Unfinished Mechanical Piano Piece, 1977

Works by the Russian film master Nikita Mikhalkov ("The Burning Sun"). Adapted from Chekhov's four-act play. Winner of the Golden Shell Award at the San Sebastian International Film Festival. The film is also best known for its poetic cinematography, which was listed by the official publication of the European Society of Cinematographers as one of the "100 Best European Cinematography in Film History". This screening is a 2K digitally restored copy.

A Few Days in Oblomov's Life, 1980

Works by the Russian film master Nikita Mikhalkov ("The Burning Sun"). Adapted from Goncharov's novel, it tells the story of the young master Oblomov who has lived a life of idleness and autism since the death of his parents, watching his family fall in the middle of the road, but still escaping by sleeping. Suddenly, one day, his childhood friend reunites with him and takes him to open the closed circle. Won the National Film Critics Association Award for Best Foreign Language Film. This screening is a 2K digitally restored copy.
