According to Lu Zheng, the screenwriter of "The Gunshots of the Secret Bureau", the prototype of the "old third" is Dai Long, a red agent of the CCP.
Lü Zheng engaged in underground work in his early years, and was the upper line of Comrade Dai Long, and the last person Dai Long was ordered to lurk in Taiwan's contacts on the mainland was Lü Zheng, who transferred from Hong Kong to Taiwan and met Dai Long for the last time in Guangzhou.
After the liberation of the whole country, Lü Zheng created the novel "Fighting in the Heart of the Enemy" based on his work experience that year, and in 1978 the novel was adapted into the movie "The Gunshots of the Secret Bureau", even at that time, the matter of the "third old" Dai Long was still a secret that could not be opened. According to Lü Zheng's widow in early 1980, Jiao Jingqiu, who trapped Dai Long, was later brought back from abroad and punished as he deserved.
On June 1, 2014, the ashes of the "third oldest" Dai Long were transported back to China from Taiwan for burial, and the relevant parties held a solemn funeral for Dai Long.
