In Haiyang, Shandong Province, the temperature outside has dropped to minus 5°C, while the temperature in the homes of local residents remains at 24°C, and the State Power Investment Corporation's "Warm Nuclear No. 1" project heats them. This is the fourth year of nuclear heating, and the price is 1 yuan cheaper per square meter than conventional heating. Warm Core One helped Hai Duong become the country's first "zero-carbon" heating city, making the coastal town more livable in winter.
Qian Zhimin, Chairman of the State Power Investment Corporation and Secretary of the Party Group: Haiyang has a population of more than 2 million, all of which have achieved nuclear heating. The benefits are zero emissions, very good for the air and the environment, and at the same time it is also very economical, cheaper than the original conventional heating. We are now expanding the heating area, from the original 5 million square meters to 30 million square meters. In the future, in addition to Haiyang City, we will expand to Yantai and Weihai.
Reporter: So what is the progress of the mainland's independent third-generation nuclear power "Guohe No. 1"?
Qian Zhimin, Chairman of and Secretary of the Party Group: This is the most important milestone after 20 years of major research and development. People say that ten years to sharpen a sword, we are twenty years to sharpen a sword. Now the No. 1 and No. 2 units of "Guohe No. 1" are being built in Rongcheng, Weihai. With a single unit of 1.5 million kilowatts, "Guohe-1" is the world's largest passive pressurized water reactor nuclear power plant, and one unit can probably drive more than 30 billion yuan of investment.
In Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, the State Power Investment Natural Gas Hydrogen Doping Demonstration Project is being promoted, wall-hung furnaces, gas water heaters and stoves have been successfully ignited, and hydrogen-doped natural gas stoves can already cook dumplings with hydrogen energy, which also lays an important foundation for the subsequent promotion of the popularization of natural gas doped pipeline transportation technology.
Reporter: Will hydrogen energy enter the conventional fuel system and enter thousands of households in the future?
Qian Zhimin, Chairman of the State Power Investment Corporation and Secretary of the Party Group: We have been doing more than three years of work. In Chaoyang, Liaoning, hydrogen is mixed into the natural gas pipeline, which is the natural gas used by every household for cooking, and now it has basically been demonstrated, and 10% of the hydrogen doping has no effect on the use of the entire material pipeline. If the country's natural gas can be mixed with 10% hydrogen, it is also a great thing. We recently contacted companies in Hong Kong to produce hydrogen from offshore wind and then transport it to the system instead.
In order to better promote the development of hydrogen energy, established the first professional hydrogen energy company among central enterprises to promote the localization of hydrogen energy equipment. At present, the company is exploring new formats such as hydrogen buses, hydrogen trains, and hydrogen ships.
Qian Zhimin, Chairman of the State Power Investment Corporation and Secretary of the Party Group: Our company was mixed reform in 2019, with a valuation of 50 million yuan, and then after a round of financing, it just achieved a B round of financing at the end of 2022, with a market valuation of 13 billion yuan, and a market valuation from 50 million yuan to 13 billion yuan, which is 260 times.
Recently, the first phase of the Baoding Integrated Smart Zero Carbon Power Plant Project of Hebei Company of was officially connected to the grid for power generation. When fully completed, the project can provide a peak capacity of 1,100MW for the power grid; Provide strong support for energy supply in winter. The project integrates resources such as photovoltaic, wind power, energy storage, adjustable load, etc., and comprehensively utilizes advanced technologies such as intelligent control, which is equivalent to providing the peak shaving capacity of nearly 3 million kilowatt coal-fired power units.
Qian Zhimin, Chairman of the State Power Investment Corporation and Secretary of the Party Group: We have made a calculation that if it is in a prefecture-level city, it can basically be made into a 3 million kilowatt zero-carbon smart power plant, if it is a coal power plant, the construction cost will be about 10 billion yuan, and the largest investment of zero-carbon smart power plant is about 3 billion yuan, accounting for only 1/3. At the same time, there is no need for raw materials, we use renewable energy, which is zero emissions.
As of the end of December 2022, the total installed capacity of exceeded 210 million kilowatts, of which the installed capacity of clean energy exceeded 139 million kilowatts, accounting for 65.87%, and the installed capacity of photovoltaic, new energy and clean energy power generation ranked first in the world. Speaking of 2023, Qian Zhimin is full of confidence in the development of the energy industry.
Qian Zhimin, Chairman of and Secretary of the Party Group: I think the economy will have very good growth in 2023. We are now making efforts in three areas, the first is the new energy base. The second is to exert force on the user side. The third is green power conversion. The energy change has promoted industrial upgrading, combined with science and technology, industry, finance, and other fields, and I think its driving force is just in line with China's modernization.
