The Republic of Armenia is a republic located in the Transcaucasian region and is sometimes considered part of Eastern Europe. Armenia has an area of 29,700 square kilometers and a population of about 3 million. Azerbaijan is a presidential republic. With a land area of 86,600 square kilometers and a population of 10.12 million, it belongs to the Shia Islamic country.
In order not to be assimilated by the Persians, King Trada III of Armenia established Christianity as the state religion in 301 AD, making Armenia the first Christian country in the world.
Echmiadzin Cathedral was the world's first formal church, built in the fourth century.
In Armenia, it is widely believed that Noah's Ark was embedded in the ice at the top of Mount Aararat. It can also be seen on the coat of arms of Armenia.
Basturma (Armenian beef jerky)
Basturma is an air-dried, cured beef. The main ingredients include beef or lamb slices, fenugreek powder, five-spice powder, cumin, turmeric, and red pepper.
Khash (Armenian stewed pig's feet)
The name itself comes from the Armenian word "khashel", which means "to boil". The main raw materials are pig's feet, the head, feet and stomach of cows or sheep.
Kash is an Armenian festive soup dish that is mainly made in winter and has a stomach-nourishing effect.
Lahmacun (Armenian pizza)
Armenian pizza is very thin. Line with sautéed ground beef, chopped onions, garlic, and peeled crushed tomatoes and bake in the oven until the dough is crispy.
Tjvjik (fried beef liver)
Tjvjik is considered a delicacy in some rural areas of Armenia. It's actually fried beef liver cooked with plenty of onions.
Tjvjik is a very unique Armenian delicacy that is hard to find. But if you can make friends with the locals, they will take you to find it.
Nagorno-Karabakh (Nagorno-Karabakh region) is predominantly Armenian, but is universally recognized internationally as the territory of Azerbaijan. On September 27, 2020, another military conflict broke out between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
Following the dissolution of the Transcaucasian Democratic Federative Republic on 26 May 1918 and the declaration of independence of the Democratic Republic of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia both declared their independence simultaneously on 28 May. The two countries claimed their historical and ethnically owned lands, and territorial conflicts broke out, culminating in the Azerbaijani-Armenian War of 1918-1920.
In 1988, Armenia in Karabakh voted to leave Azerbaijan and join Armenia, triggering a military conflict, later known as the Nagorno-Karabakh War.
At present, Armenia and Azerbaijan have not yet established full-fledged diplomatic relations due to the ongoing conflict in the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
Azer means "fire", which stems from the worship of Persian Zoroastrianism by people living in Azerbaijan thousands of years ago.
Azerbaijan's currency, the manat, is modeled on the euro and looks a lot like euro banknotes, with similar sizes, colors, and fonts.

The thousand-year-old city of Naftalan is a mecca for oil baths, and people from all over the world come here every year. Oil bath has anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effects, dilating blood vessels, promoting metabolism and speeding up wound healing.
Kufta Bozbash (Azerbaijani Lion's Head)
Large meatballs cooked in a delicious soup with potatoes, peas and lamb bones make Kufta-Pozbash one of Azerbaijan's national soups. Depending on the region, chefs add different types of ingredients and spices to the soup, sometimes dried plums.
Dushbara (Azerbaijani dumplings)
This is the Azerbaijani version of dumplings.
