Creative inspiration
CoCo is Pixar's famous animated film released in 2016 and focuses on the connection between generations and family members that exist even if they are not in the same world.

Thanks to this inspiration, the architect wanted to create a new sense of space through the arrangement art of glass materials to bridge the real and the virtual. As a result, the effect of the material creates the illusion of reproduction, giving the house a sense of spaciousness (when in fact the house is only 4.6 meters wide). At certain angles, the occupants of the space can see the infinite view of the room. The architects also only designed half of the house's details, because once reflected by the mirror, they were able to look around the complete interior (and the details of the window arches can be seen in the reading space on the second floor).

This is a way to expand the sense of space in the interior of narrow townhouses. It both enhances the sense of expansion of the space and brings to life the concepts that the architect wants to convey in the residence.

Technical details
The owner wants a large area with a minimalist and spacious style for planting and for his/her koi hobby. This new residence allows him/her to maintain the rhythm of daily life, such as a relaxation area with hammocks and a private clinical service area, while also assuming the main functions of accommodation and commercial premises.

In addition, the residential design has the following specific technical features:
Integrating fish ponds and gardens into living spaces: Recognizing the need to meet the owner's large needs for growing and fish farming hobbies in a narrow space, the architects integrated these areas to create a living co-living space. The fish pond not only provides landscape elements, but also regulates the microclimate of the living space.

Materials and configurations
The residential design uses glass bricks to mimic wave patterns, visualizing the waters of western Vietnam and emphasizing the aesthetic curves of the façade. Glass tiles not only guarantee privacy in the open spaces inside the house, but also provide plenty of natural light.

The scheme uses ventilated bricks to ensure that the room is protected from rainy weather. In addition, it allows air to circulate from the façade to every nook and cranny of the interior. The architect thought carefully about the selection and layout of the ventilation bricks, and from an aesthetic point of view, through the placement in different directions, it served the function of drainage and ventilation at the same time.

The architect also unified the living room and kitchen into a single space through the design method of "space borrowing". In this way, the kitchen and dining room can be adaptively extended by adding a table with 6 to 18 seats to meet the needs of special occasions or large numbers of visitors.

Microclimate regulation solutions
The residence consists of 5 gardens of various sizes, which are suitable for the planting preferences of the owners and serve as sound and dust protection. The pebbles scattered on the glass roof enable the need for light regulation. It not only helps to reflect light throughout the living space, but also creates a luminous effect suitable for daily activities.
