Today (August 16) morning, the 14th Games of the People's Republic of China, the 11th Paralympic Games and the 8th Special Olympics Torch Relay Ignition Ceremony was held in Yongningmen Square, Xi'an City.
For the first time, the torch relay of the 14th Games and the Special Olympics adopts the "two fires in one" transmission method, and the torches of the National Games and the Special Olympics are combined into one and one. The first torch relay activity starts from Yongningmen Square in Xi'an City and ends at Danfengmen Square of Daming Palace, and the running distance of each torchbearer is about 50 meters, and the whole journey is about 5.3 kilometers.
At the scene of the torchbearer relay activity of the 14th Games and The Special Olympics (Xi'an City Station), many people came to watch the launching ceremony.
As the first stop city of the torch relay activities, Xi'an City also highlighted the characteristics, history, culture and development achievements of the city in the route setting. After the torch relay starts from Yongningmen Square, it passes through the Bell Tower, the People's Theater and the Anyuan Gate to the Danfengmen Square of Daming Palace, showing the rich historical and cultural heritage of the ancient capital of the Thirteen Dynasties.
