But the Shaolin Temple, a thousand-year-old temple, in addition to its glorious side, is also a time of suffering. Its history has been destroyed four times, the most recent of which was in 1928, and the culprit was the famous "defecting general" Shi Yousan.
Shi Yousan, born in 1891 in Changchun, Jilin Province, was the first person he joined the army with was Wu Peifu of the Beiyang Army. In 1912, when Yuan Shikai and Sun Yat-sen were in dispute over whether the capital was Beijing or Nanjing, at 6 p.m. on February 29, the officers and soldiers of the third town of Beiyang launched a mutiny and looted in the name of demanding military salaries, and more than 4,000 shops and people were killed, and even the railway bureau, banks, and mints were looted. Therefore, Yuan Shikai refused to go south to take office as president on the grounds of beijing's turmoil. As for the inside story of the "mutiny," historians have different opinions. According to Xu Shichang, Yuan Shikai's adviser at the time, the mutiny was Yuan Ke's decision, and he wanted to use the method of "yellow robes and body" to kidnap Puyi in the imperial city and force Yuan Shikai to claim the title of emperor.
These high-level battles had little to do with Shi Yousan, who was only a pawn at that time, but Shi Yousan also completed the first "defection" in his life at that time, from Wu Peifu to Feng Yuxiang as a soldier.
Since then, with the rise of Feng Yuxiang, Shi You has risen three times in a row. At first, he only gave Feng Yuxiang a groom and a personal follower, and gradually gained Feng Yuxiang's trust, and he was promoted to the commander of the battalion. His first appearance was during the Zhiwan War in 1920. Shi Yousan was promoted continuously in the Northwest Army, three years and three grades. In 1924, Shi Yousan served as the brigade commander of the Eighth Mixed Brigade and the defender of Baotou Town, and was promoted to division commander in 1925 and to military commander in 1926. Feng Yuxiang has the "grace of knowing" for Shi Yousan. But in his lifetime, he repeatedly defected to Feng Yuxiang three times.
Shortly after becoming a military commander for the first time, Shi Yousan, as the commander of the Fifth Army of the Nationalist Army, faced the joint attack of Zhi and Feng, fought against the Jin army, and at first he was still quite energetic, but later he saw that his troops gradually suffered more casualties and the food supply was insufficient, at this time, the characteristics of wavering were revealed. The former enemy commander of the other side was Shang Zhen, and When Shi Yousan was in elementary school, he was Shi Yousan's teacher. Shi Yousan took advantage of the "teacher-student relationship" to secretly contact Shang Zhen and agreed that the two armies would not shoot each other. Shi Yousan's loss directly led to the defeat of the Northwest Army, and Feng Yuxiang was forced to "stay in the ocean" and go to the Soviet Union to investigate.
The second time was in 1929, when Feng Yuxiang returned to China to organize an anti-Chiang Kai-shek campaign and decided to go to the meeting with a single knife and go to Baotou to see Shi Yousan. Unexpectedly, Shi Yousan took the initiative to come to see Feng Yuxiang by car, and after meeting, Shi Yousan knelt down and cried bitterly, expressing remorse for his initial defection. Feng Yuxiang lifted him up and said, "We won't talk about anything about the past, we'll start from scratch today." Therefore, Shi Yousan was appointed as the commander-in-chief of the Thirteenth Route Army. Before the war had even begun, Shi Yousan and Han Fuyu opposed Feng Yuxiang's dispatches, disobeyed the command, and drove their troops east to Shaanzhou, where they sent a telegram to rebel against Feng and surrender to Jiang. Chiang Kai-shek was overjoyed, appointed Shi Yousan as the commander-in-chief of the Thirteenth Route Army, and sent a reward of five million yuan. Shi Yousan scolded Feng Yuxiang at the flag-changing ceremony, and the contrast with his original crying and weeping was huge and eye-popping.
The third time was in 1930, Feng Yuxiang and Yan Xishan rebelled against Jiang, Feng Yuxiang sent people to persuade Shi Yousan to act in unison, Yan Xishan also sent people to win Shi Yousan and promise Shandong territory, Shi Yousan saw the benefits and decided to join hands with Feng Yan to please Jiang. After several months of fighting, the war was unfavorable and the grain was lacking, so Shi Yousan made a small calculation and sent someone to contact Zhang Xueliang, and the letter wrote: "Retreat north within the day, obey the northeast army, and be willing to follow the example." At that time, Wang Jingwei, Chen Gongbo and others were in the anti-Chiang army, and they were surprised to hear that Shi Yousan had rebelled. Chen Gongbo wrote in his memoirs: "Although the Shi (Yousan) army is not very powerful, it is still a large army, and if it is not satisfied, it will cause trouble in the rear, from Xinxiang to Shijiazhuang, and some troops will not have it, then we can really become prisoners together." ”
With the help of Zhang Xueliang, Chiang Kai-shek won the Battle of the Central Plains and nominally unified China. Shi Yousan also did a heinous crime, that is, to burn the Shaolin Temple.
It is said that the Shaolin Temple has a lay disciple named Fan Zhongxiu. Fan Zhongxiu was pregnant with martial arts and was young and vigorous, he organized and trained militia groups, gradually organized troops, participated in the Dharma Protection Movement, and became famous for a while, Sun Yat-sen recruited him to Guangzhou, personally rewarded him, and appointed him as the commander-in-chief of the Jianguo Yu Army.
During the Northern Expedition, the Jianguo Yu Army was a revolutionary ally, and Shi Yousan, who was in the National Coalition Army, was considered a comrade-in-arms. Feng Yuxiang entered Yu from Shaanxi and first sent someone to contact Fan Zhongxiu to merge the ministry. At that time, the Northwest Army was in its heyday, with 400,000 troops and most of the territory of Shaanxi, Gansu and Henan. In particular, Feng Yuxiang had just received a lot of assistance from the Soviet Union, and his troops were strong and strong, and his weapons were excellent. After a quarrel or two quarrels, Fan Zhongxiu moved his spirits and simply turned to Wu Peifu, which in turn became the object of the "Northern Expedition".
In March 1928, before Fan Zhongxiu and Shi Yousan went to war, Fan Zhongxiu set up his headquarters in the Shaolin Temple. The Shaolin Temple has the location of Song Mountain, and there are supplies in the temple, as well as the people of Shaolin monks. As for the Shaolin Temple, I think that Fan Zhongxiu is also a disciple of this disciple, and he can be regarded as a figure in the whole country, and he has the lintel of the light gate and acts as a "protector", which is also thought to be a good thing.
Fan Zhongxiu's troops were not Shi Yousan's opponents, outnumbered in numbers, and most of the equipment was Hanyang-made and earthen guns and artillery. Facing Shi Yousan's Soviet guns, he was defeated in a few rounds. On March 15, the victorious Shi Yousan entered Fan Zhongxiu's headquarters at the Shaolin Temple and set fire to the Dharma Hall. This was not enough to vent his anger, and the next day, he ordered his subordinates to bring kerosene, pour it all over the temple, and then set fire to the entire Shaolin Temple. Important buildings such as the Hall of the Heavenly King, the Hall of the Great Treasure, the Pavilion of the Scriptures, and the Bell Tower and Drum Tower were all caught in the sea of fire. The fire burned for 40 days, and a thousand-year-old temple and historical relics were enlarged, leaving only the ruins of the broken wall.
This move is not only a scourge of war, but also an atrocity that destroys cultural monuments. Compared with Sun Dianying, the "Great Thief of Tanglin", who stole the tomb of Cixi, Sun Dianying stole the tomb and coveted treasure to harm others and benefit himself, and Shi Yousan's burning of the Shaolin Temple was a pure evil act that harmed people and was unfavorable! All walks of life unanimously condemned, especially the martial artists who admired Shaolin, the most wanted culprit Shi Yousan, especially the shaolin temple monks and soldiers, who hated him to the bone. This man who is angry and resentful and who everyone is cursed, it is no wonder that his personal bodyguards and special cooks are also risking poisoning him.
In 1936, Chiang Kai-shek visited the Shaolin Temple, and his entourage briefed him on the burning of the Shaolin Temple, and Chiang Kai-shek said: "Shi Yousan is bad enough!" In his diary that day (November 12), he scolded: "Visit the Shaolin Temple." Its former scale is rare. Unfortunately, it was seventeen years old when Feng Jun's artillery was destroyed, so why should he want to destroy culture so much. ”
Shi Yousan not only burned the Shaolin Temple to scold, he also once caused Chiang Kai-shek to be in a hurry.
<h1>4. Shelling the city of Nanjing</h1>
After Shi Yousan's second rebellion against Feng, ShiBu moved to Bozhou and Bengbu, and Chiang Kai-shek, using the chairman of Guangdong Province as bait, ordered him to lead his army south to attack Liangguang. At this time, Li Zongren and Chen Jitang from Guangdong sent people to warn Shi Yousan: Chiang Kai-shek sent you to shanghai by wooden boat from Pukou, and then shipped to Guangdong, and when you got on the ship, you were going to destroy all your reorganizations. Shi Yousan's brain is also a tendon, such an obvious provocation, he actually believed. On December 2, 1929, Shi Yousan suddenly held an emergency military conference at Pukou Station and decided to break with Chiang Kai-shek. Shi Yousan scolded and grinned: "Chiang Kai-shek is not a thing, bomb him." While lining up dozens of cannons in Pukou, he suddenly bombarded Nanjing, and sent plainclothes teams to infiltrate Nanjing to make trouble. Chiang Kai-shek did not expect Shi Yousan to come to such a hand, and for a while, all the ministries and courtyards in Nanjing fled one after another and became a chaotic mess. Chiang Kai-shek angrily wrote in his diary that day: "Late to report, for Shi Yousandian there is news of a rebellion in Pukou. The dispatchers did not even hear back from the detectives. After hearing the sound of his gunshots, he knew that it had indeed changed, and the wolf's ambitions could not be treated as well! After Shi You's three troops shelled Nanjing, they all withdrew, and all the wagons of the Jinpu line were also taken away and retreated to the Xuzhou area.
Shi Yousan's defection to Zhang Xueliang was only a temporary opportunistic move, and in the spring of 1931, he suspected that Zhang Xueliang would follow Chiang Kai-shek's orders to detain him, so he launched the Campaign to Overthrow Zhang. Under the joint attack and pursuit of Jiang and Zhang, in only half a month, his army of 60,000 or 70,000 collapsed. He fled to Jinan, hid with Han Fuyu for a while, and not willing to be lonely, ran to the Japanese concession in Tianjin, contacted Kenji Toihara, the head of the Japanese secret service in China, organized hooligans, disrupted the Beiping street market, and opened the way for the Japanese invasion of China.
Needless to say, his tossing and turning also worked. Song Zheyuan, who was in charge of Northern China at the time, thought that Shi Yousan was used by the Japanese and it was better to appease him, so he gave him the title of commander of the security of northern Hebei. After the July 7 Incident, Shi Yousan's troops were reorganized into the 181st Division, which was later expanded into the 69th Army, and then promoted to deputy commander of the Jicha Theater and chairman of Chahar Province.
Shi Yousan, who was in North China, with his personality, was bound to contact the Eighth Route Army. At the beginning, Shi Yousan also sang a high-pitched anti-Japanese tone. Song Renqiang's memoirs record: "During this period, Shi (Yousan) repeatedly expressed progress,...... We swore that we would jointly resist Japan and would never engage in friction. But soon after, the "defective" nature was revealed. Nie Rongzhen recalled: "At the beginning, when Shi Yousan and Zhu Huaibing were intercepted by the Japanese army behind the enemy, they sheltered in the Eighth Route Army, so that they could get along without incident and have a foothold. Now, thinking that their feathers were plump and they could compete with the Eighth Route Army, they aggressively slaughtered the enemy's rear base areas. On the one hand, they attacked the eighth route army units everywhere and killed anti-Japanese government personnel and their families. These guys are vying for territory, appointing county chiefs, district chiefs, and even five county chiefs in a county at the same time. A good base area, stirred up by them. ”
In the spring of 1939, the headquarters of the Eighth Route Army decided to resolutely strike at shiyou sanbu who was engaged in friction, and after three battles against Shiyousan, he was beaten into a desert and fled. Cornered, Ishito is ready to surrender to the Japanese devils.
<h1>5. Bury Shi You III alive</h1>
Shi Yousan is a member of the Northwest Army, and the Northwest Army has strong combat effectiveness, but it has an obvious characteristic, that is, frequent "defections." Not only Shi Yousan was like this, but even the "boss" Feng Yuxiang was the same; others, such as Han Deyu, Wu Huawen, Lu Zhonglin, and so on, were not the generation of The Emperor Qin Twilight Chu. Many people scolded them for how bad their character was, but in fact, this was only a symptom, and the essence was that the Northwest Army had always lacked ideas and theories, and had no faith and direction. Even Feng Yuxiang's belief in Christianity as an army is called "General Christ". This is just his rush to the doctor's approach, almost a joke.
In 1940, Shi Yusan was ready to surrender to the Japanese again, and his subordinates, who also worshiped his brother Gao Shuxun, were not willing to follow him as traitors, and they had a deep grudge with him, determined to get rid of this scourge. Gao Shuxun asked Sun Liangcheng, a former general of the Northwest Army whom Shi Yousan could trust, to come forward and ask Shi Yousan to interview Gao Shuxun's troops "in order to eliminate the gap between the two men." Ishitomi saw that the old chief came forward to invite him, and he agreed.
On the morning of December 1, 1940, Shi Yousan, Sun Liangcheng and others took a company of cavalry to Liuxiatun, the seat of Gao Shuxun's army. After arriving at 8:00 a.m., Gao Shuxun led brigadiers and above to welcome Shi Yousan and Sun Liangcheng in. Gao Shuxun immediately got up, confessed his guilt in his mouth, and said to the attendants to quickly notify the kitchen to open the meal, and then walked out. As soon as Gao Shuxun went out, he immediately acted as planned, ordering people to solve Shi Yousan's guard company, sending eight people to restrain Shi Yousan's two bodyguards with guns, and four soldiers with pistols rushed into the banquet hall and got Shi Yousan's gun, and the two big men dragged Shi Yousan into a hut. Shi Yousan was not mentally prepared for this sudden situation, and his face was so frightened that he shivered and could not say a word.
Sun Liangcheng saw the case and shouted, "What are you doing here?" Call Gao Jianhou Gao Shuxun to come! After Gao Shuxun entered, Sun Liangcheng was still making a lot of noise, at this time Gao Shuxun took out a telegram from Wei Lihuang, commander of the First Theater of Operations, ordering the arrest of Shi Yousan, and Sun Liangcheng was dumbfounded. After detaining Shi Yousan, Gao Shuxun called again to ask for instructions on how to deal with it. Wei Lihuang restored the telegram to "rectify the fa on the spot."
That night, Shi Yousan was tied up to the Yellow River, where there was a pit that had been dug long ago. When Shi Yousan saw Tu Kang, he knew that Gao Shuxun wanted to bury himself alive, so he scolded. Gao Shuxun smiled: "It's not that I kill is heavenly killing, not heavenly killing is earth killing, not earth killing is Jiang killing, one report is one report, and the crime deserves it." You have aided and abetted abuse, betrayed my Chinese nation, and buried many good people alive, so let you taste the taste of burying alive today! At the sound of an order, Gao Shuxun's soldiers threw Shi Yousan into the pit, picked up a shovel, and smashed the dirt on Shi Yousan. At first, Shi Yousan was still scolding, then it became pleading, and finally the screaming became weaker and weaker, until there was no sound.
Small supper, big happy. One of the people who was particularly happy was Actually Shi Yousan's fifth aunt!
