On July 15, 1950, Leibo was liberated, and in August, the People's Government of Leibo County was established, which was subordinate to Leshan Prefecture of Sichuan Province. Since January 1956, it has been subordinate to Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture.

In January 1957, the Yixi Highway, which crossed 114 kilometers through Leibo, was officially opened to traffic, ending the history of Leibo without highways. Today, Leibo County has achieved village-to-village access, and the county's highway mileage has reached 2,302 kilometers. Yipan Expressway and Lexi Expressway started construction, Yixi Railway has completed feasibility study, with the opening of Liangshan Port Leibo Port Area and the construction of small general airports, a three-dimensional transportation network of "rail, bus, machine and water" will be formed in about 5 years.

In 1947, Leibo County Hospital was built, and in July 1950, the hospital was taken over by the county people's power, and in 1956 it was changed to Leibo County People's Hospital. The mighty Jinsha River, flowing through the thunder wave, the dangerous scenery, huge drop, and rushing river, create an excellent hydropower generation platform here.
