Chinese giant pandas "Jingjing" and "Four Seas" arrived in Qatar on October 19, and after four weeks of adaptive life, they officially met the public on November 17, Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Home Khalid unveiled the panda pavilion, officials from various Qatari government departments, Chinese Ambassador to Qatar Zhou Jian and people from all walks of life of the two countries attended the opening ceremony, children from Qatar painted their minds of pandas at the ceremony.

Qatari children: I like giant pandas very much, it was my dream to see them with my own eyes, and now my dream has come true. This is the first time I've seen giant pandas and I love them because they're cute.
At present, two giant pandas live in the specially built panda pavilion at Haal Zoo, 50 kilometers north of Doha, Qatar, in order to cope with the local hot desert climate, the panda pavilion uses air conditioning and humidification systems to precisely control the temperature and humidity suitable for panda life, and try to simulate the changes of the four seasons. According to the garden, the male giant panda "Jingjing" has fully adapted to its new home, and the female giant panda "Sihai" has basically adapted to the new life.
Gao Yongsi, director of the Qatar Panda Pavilion: Our bamboo mainly comes from Sichuan, and we often have backup plans, such as plane delays or other reasons, the plane cannot come from China, we will see if there is bamboo from Europe to supply us. They adapted very well, slept well, ate well, and both gained weight. (Reporter: How much weight have you gained? "Jingjing" gained about three kilograms, and "Sihai" also gained three to four kilograms.
In order to take care of the life and health of the two Chinese giant pandas, the Qatar Panda House employs a number of breeders and veterinarians with experience in caring for pandas, and the China Giant Panda Conservation and Research Center also has two keepers and a veterinarian who came to Qatar with the pandas to accompany them through the transition period.
Zhang Yuchen: Many friends may worry about whether pandas will live well and eat well in the Middle East, in addition to bamboo, giant pandas have a lot of complementary food every day, these in my hand are what a giant panda is going to eat today, two carrots, an apple, and such a large cornmeal cake (wowo tou cake), made in a pure Chinese way, weighing a kilogram, so everyone does not have to worry about their eating and drinking in the Middle East.
The appearance of giant pandas in Qatar during the World Cup not only set off a panda fever in Qatar, but also provided an opportunity for fans to get close to giant pandas.
In order to further promote international cooperation in giant panda conservation research and promote the conservation of endangered species and biodiversity between China and Qatar, China and Qatar signed a cooperation agreement on giant panda conservation research in May 2020. According to the agreement, the two giant pandas will live in Qatar for 15 years.
