Mehran Karimi Nasseri, the prototype character of the actor Victor (Tom Hanks) in "Happy Terminal", died on November 12 at Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France, at the age of 76.

In 1988, Nasseri stopped in France en route to the United Kingdom, losing his documents, preventing him from boarding or leaving the airport. From 1988 to 2006, Nasseri lived on the red bench in the airport's Terminal 1, where he slept for 18 years, year after year.

In 2003, the famous Hollywood director Steven Spielberg learned the story of Naseri in the terminal and was inspired to create it, and finally filmed the movie "The Terminal of Happiness" in 2004, in which Victor was based on Naseri.

Nasseri left the terminal in 2006 and lived in a shelter in Paris, France, but he has not been satisfied with the facilities and life in the shelter, and a few weeks before his death, the 76-year-old Naseri lived in the terminal of Charles de Gaulle Airport after several twists and turns, and finally died there at noon on November 12, 2022.
