Japan's "best" kamikaze members, 9 in and 9 out in the Pacific theater, survived the emperor to death and died angry

To say that the most notorious flying team of World War II was Japan's "kamikaze special attack team".

At the end of World War II, Japan was already at the end of a strong crossbow, and in order to save the defeat, the Japanese top level specially established an air death squad.

This death squad is the "kamikaze team".

Adhering to the principle of "one man, one plane, one bomb for one ship", they strapped bombs to the planes and then launched suicide attacks on US ships.

It can be seen that the chances of survival of the "kamikaze team" are almost zero.

But it was such a notorious air death squad that gave birth to a legendary pilot, Yuji Sasaki.

After entering the "kamikaze team", he went in and out of the Pacific theater nine times by one person and one plane, and returned to the team unscathed each time.

In the end, he was angry with Dasa, survived the emperor, and lived to be 92 years old before he died.

Yuji Sasaki is arguably the most capable member of the "kamikaze team".

How did he manage to fly a fighter jet and retreat from the battlefield after his boss gave the death order?

If the order was not fulfilled, why did the boss let him go?

Today we will talk about the legendary life of Yuji Sasaki.

I. Yuji Sasaki

In 1923, Sasaki Yuji was born in Dangbetsu Village, Ishikari District, Sapporo City, Hokkaido, with a family of twelve brothers and sisters, and he was the sixth oldest.

Yuji Sasaki's father, Tokichi Sasaki, fought in the Russo-Japanese War and retreated from the battlefield.

The reason why he can come back alive is because he can "survive".

On the battlefield, Sasaki Tokichi maintained the principle that he would not go to dangerous places, and as long as he stayed until the end of the war, he could always return to his hometown.

This principle was passed on to his family by Sasaki Fujiyoshi.

He taught children from a young age that life is only once, which is very precious, and this sentence made Sasaki Yuji remember.

It also laid the groundwork for him to enter and exit nine times in the Pacific War later.

In his second year of high school, Yuji Sasaki secretly dropped out of school without his parents and applied for the Ministry of Communications pilot's test in the local area.

After passing the exam, he became a reserve pilot.

When he studied at the Ministry of Communications, Yuji Sasaki was not a student of Anfen.

Because of the instructor's bad attitude, Yuji Sasaki once led a hunger strike, and he made a name for himself when he was a student.

It became a famous "thorn head" in the Japanese flying team.

After graduating from the Ministry of Communications, Sasaki Yuji entered the Japanese Army Flight School, where he learned a lot of flying skills.

For example, how to fly a fighter, how to bomb, and so on.

At this time, Sasaki Yuji also fantasized about becoming a civil aviation pilot after graduation.

As everyone knows, from the moment he stepped into the Army Flight School, his fate was already predetermined, and he would definitely be "crushed" for the emperor in the future.

It has to be said that Sasaki Yuji did not catch up with the good times, and after graduating from school, he was just in time for 1944.

This year, World War II has entered the end, and Japan is already at the end of a strong crossbow.

In order to save face, the top level of the Japanese military department planned to form a "kamikaze special attack team" to launch indiscriminate attacks on US ships in the Pacific Ocean.

That is, carrying a large number of bombs, let the pilot fly a fighter jet to ram the US ship, once the impact is completed, the survival rate is zero.

It can be seen that the "kamikaze special attack team" is completely a suicide force.

In order to fulfill the mission with distinction, the Japanese military department mobilized the best pilots in the country to join the "kamikaze special attack team".

Unfortunately, Yuji Sasaki became a member of the "kamikaze team" because his grades in school were too good.

His life began.

2. Carry out tasks

In November 1944, Yuji Sasaki went on his first mission.

He is not stupid, knowing that after joining the "kamikaze team", he is basically equivalent to being sentenced to death.

Fortunately, his boss Masatoshi Iwamoto was not so extreme, telling his pilots when on a mission.

"The above only asked you to bomb the US ship, and did not let you tie bombs to the plane, so normal bombing is fine."

I thought that with such a boss, Yuji Sasaki would be able to survive the last year of World War II in peace.

Unexpectedly, this friendly boss was shot down by the United States while attending the Manila meeting and died.

In desperation, Yuji Sasaki's only hope of surviving was disillusioned.

Watching his teammates' planes crash into the U.S. warships one after another, Yuji Sasaki muttered in his heart.

After much thought, I finally decided to fly the fighter back home.

After returning to the base, the officers present were directly dumbfounded.

They thought that the team members were destined to go and never return on this mission, so they reported to the country soon after they left.

"Team Wanduo, the first team of the kamikaze special attack team, has been shattered for His Majesty the Emperor, and finally successfully sank two American ships!"

"During the mission, Sasaki Yuji performed very heroically, piloted a fighter, still resolutely crashed into the American warship, and finally died heroically!"

The telegrams have been sent, but Yuji Sasaki survived, how should he explain to the emperor?

In desperation, the commander could only hide the news that Yuji Sasaki had not died, and on November 15, he was again assigned the task.

Before the mission began, the commander also deliberately pulled Yuji Sasaki aside and told him with a gloomy face.

"This time, you must crush the jade for His Majesty the Emperor!"

Yuji Sasaki nodded with a serious face.

After the fighter took off into the air, looking at his comrades who were constantly dying, Sasaki Yuji muttered again.

Although man is inherently dead, he does not want to die in vain.

After all his teammates died, Sasaki Yuji thought, anyway, his teammates have crashed, and it is not worse than my plane.

So, fly the plane back to base again.

At this time, the news of Yuji Sasaki's death had reached home, and his family was already preparing to hold a funeral for him.

Seeing Yuji Sasaki return again intact, the officers were dumbfounded again.

They never expected that Yuji Sasaki would be so "timid" that he didn't even have the courage to sacrifice for the emperor.

So, on November 25, Sasaki was again assigned the task.

This time, in order for Sasaki Yuji to successfully "crush jade", the commander also appointed a pilot beside him.

To say that it is cooperation is actually to spy on him.

Looking at his teammates staring at him, Yuji Sasaki was a little desperate, can he successfully survive?

Third, successfully "survive"

It turns out that God did not give up on him.

Before the mission, US fighters suddenly appeared in the sky and bombed the Japanese warship indiscriminately.

The pilots who came to spy on Yuji Sasaki were very unfortunate and were blown into powder during this bombing.

Due to force majeure, the mission was forced to be cancelled.

On November 28, Sasaki Yuji was assigned again, for the fifth time on a suicide mission, this time, he was assigned to the fourth detachment.

When the commander of the fourth detachment saw him, his face turned green.

Before the mission began, he was specially instructed.

"Don't come back this time, otherwise I won't be able to live on my face."

Yuji Sasaki agreed very happily.

In order to ensure that Yuji Sasaki could die, his boss also assigned a monitor to follow Yuji Sasaki on his mission.

But halfway through the flight, the pilot who took the lead suddenly began to fly back.

Sasaki Yuji looked confused, and only found out after asking.

It turned out that the comrades of the fourth detachment, after learning about Yuji Sasaki, admired his desire to survive very much.

No one wants to die in vain, and the vast majority of the members of the "kamikaze" are forced to join.

They also don't want to commit suicide if possible.

Therefore, they directly abandoned the mission, flew the plane back to the base, and deceived their superiors that they did not see the American warship.

In this way, Yuji Sasaki once again managed to survive.

By this time, the nature of the mission of the "kamikaze" had changed.

The commander no longer had the luxury of expecting Yuji Sasaki to successfully blow up the warship, as long as he could die on the battlefield, it was the greatest success of the special attack team.

This time, Sasaki Yuji also knew that it would be difficult for him to survive.

He was ready to be martyred, but in the end, he still failed to summon the courage to fly the plane back to the airport.

But this time, he changed airports.

Seeing that Yuji Sasaki did not fly back, the chief thought that he had finally died, and hurriedly sent a telegram to the country to explain the news.

Unexpectedly, a day later, Yuji Sasaki was sent back to me again.

The commander of the fourth detachment was completely helpless, so, during the sixth mission, he gave Yuji Sasaki a death order.

If they return this time, Sasaki and his family will be expelled from Japan and will no longer enjoy the rights of Japanese citizens.

Perhaps it was the threat of the commander who played a role, and although Yuji Sasaki did not die this time, he made a "great battle achievement".

After returning, Sasaki Yuji said that he sank a US transport ship, and as for whether it was true or not, I am afraid that only he knows.

In December 1944, Sasaki Yuji participated in the operation for the seventh time, and this time, citing mechanical failure, he said that he could not participate in the mission.

In desperation, the commander could only let it return.

A day later, Yuji Sasaki participated in the eighth mission and successfully returned again, giving the reason that he had lost his way in the operation.

On December 18, Yuji Sasaki participated in his last mission, and this time, he again returned shortly after flying out due to mechanical failure.

Later, Tokyo was patronized by the atomic bomb boy, and Japan officially announced its surrender.

The notorious "kamikaze special attack team" has thus withdrawn from the stage of history.

Sasaki Yuji succeeded, retreated from the "kamikaze team" and returned to his hometown.

Soon after, because the war was over, his superior, in the spirit of bushido, chose to commit suicide after cutting it.

Emperor Showa, who started the war, died in 1989.

As for Yuji Sasaki, he took his father's teachings to the extreme.

It was not until 2015 that he passed away at the age of 92.
