One noon in late August, after reading the poster of "Reunion Operation" posted by the Yangpu police, Yu Laobo came to the criminal investigation detachment of the Yangpu Public Security Bureau with hope for help.

He took out an introduction sheet for abandoned babies issued by the Yangpu Public Security Bureau more than 60 years ago and told the police that he was an abandoned baby and wanted to find his family. It turned out that Yu Laobo, who was born on February 10, 1960, was abandoned at the intersection of Yangshupu Road in Dinghai Road shortly after his birth, carrying only a note with his date of birth and place of birth.

After learning of the situation, the criminal investigation detachment of the Yangpu Public Security Sub-Bureau immediately carried out work, and forensic doctor Wu Feng sampled the biological traces of Yu Laobo and compared them overnight. At the beginning of October, the police combined the results of the comparison and visited and found that Huang Laobo and Yu Laobo, who lived in Yixing City, Jiangsu Province, may be related.

With the assistance and guidance of the Criminal Investigation Corps of the Shanghai Municipal Public Security Bureau, the Yangpu Criminal Investigation Detachment contacted the local public security organs and obtained relevant information about Huang Laobo. It is understood that Mr. Huang Lao's family is also not a native family, and was sent to others for foster care by his biological parents. Considering that Yu and Huang are of similar age and have many similarities in birth, the police infer that the two are more likely to be immediate family members. To this end, the detachment once again examined and compared the biological traces of the two men, and finally confirmed that the two were brothers.

On the afternoon of October 17, the recognition ceremony was held as promised, and the two elderly people reunited after 61 years, excitedly telling each other about their experiences and asking each other whether they were doing well. They got together, pulled out their phones to show images of their families, detailed every photo and video, and they all hoped to get the 61 years of missing things back from their memories. Watching their joyful reunion, forensic doctor Wu Feng also said with deep feeling: "The instruments, reagents, and comparison results are all cold, but being able to use these things that have no temperature to help people find warmth is the reason why I am keen on forensic work." ”
