Liu Kan, Chinese Consul General in Milan, said in his speech that in the 73 years since the founding of New China, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese have created two miracles of rapid economic development and long-term social stability that are rare in the world, achieved the first centenary goal, and are moving toward the second centenary goal of comprehensively building a socialist modern power. Liu Kan reviewed the achievements made by China in the past year under the scientific guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy, in coordinating epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development, implementing new development concepts, accelerating the construction of a new development pattern, and comprehensively promoting major country diplomacy with Chinese characteristics. He highly appreciated the compatriots in the consular region for firmly safeguarding the sovereign security and territorial integrity of the motherland, opposing "independence" and promoting reunification, and resolutely opposing all forms of separatist acts.
