At the beginning of 1991, Xiong Lei came to the Health Center of Eshandianzhong Town, Yuxi, Yunnan Province to carry out medical poverty alleviation. At that time, she was surprised by the difficult conditions of the health center, and she could not do the three most basic routines, and she relied on seeing, touching, knocking, and listening (looking, smelling, asking, and cutting) to see a doctor. In the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the preparation of Chinese medicine, prescription, pricing, and medicine are all done independently by doctors. There is a shortage of doctors and medicines in the local area, and the peasants are not well-off, so the villagers often use the money from the sale of agricultural products to see a doctor and get medicine.
A pair of rough and deformed hands, a penny of pictures, and a simple smiling face made Xiong Lei have an idea in his heart. When she returned to Kunming on leave, she used part of her salary to buy silver needles and cupping moxa sticks, and built an acupuncture room in the local area.
The little silver needles work wonders. The masses in the eight townships soon learned that there was a doctor who could pierce a "steel needle" in the provincial capital, and there was an endless stream of people who came to consult and seek medical treatment every day. Xiong Lei suffers in it, but also enjoys it.
