In Wang Di's view, one of the keys to handling legal aid cases is to give the parties a sense of trust and heart-to-heart, which is a two-way process. In the past 14 years of legal aid work, the warmth and cold of vulnerable groups and people in difficulty have long become a concern in her life.
In the past five years, Wang Di has led the city's legal aid lawyers to handle a total of 30,466 legal aid cases, received 70,564 consultations from the masses, and recovered nearly 300 million yuan in economic losses for the masses; Actively give play to the advantages of legal aid flexible governance, providing legal aid to a total of 15,635 workers... Behind the fruitful results, there is a heart-warming story of "using the law to aid the weak" bit by bit.
Intimate people who support the blue sky of the rule of law for the disadvantaged groups
Focusing on safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of women, children and the elderly is an area that Wang Di has been focusing on for more than a decade. Although this road of safeguarding rights is full of thorns, it is difficult for the enemy to use the word "intentions" in every difficulty, and passing through the difficulties is Wang Di's heroic gesture to meet the battle.
Recalling the time when she first came to the unit to serve at the window after graduation, a picture that always appeared in Wang Di's mind for a long time and refused to disperse always made the corners of her mouth rise: in front of her, a skinny and rugged old man, holding a jujube red pennant with his hands, walked towards her with a spirit of supporting the dragon bell. Before she could wait for her to come forward and take the flag, the old man's warm and energetic hands had firmly clasped her young hands...
This old man is Uncle Li. Uncle Li was 72 years old at the time, with little literacy, weak hearing, and poor expression, but his desire to find his long-lost cousin was unswerving. Lost for many years, things are not mentioned, complete loss of contact clues, the two sides are old and there are few traces of social activities, and the low level of education undoubtedly makes Uncle Li's "reunion dream" seem out of reach. Uncle Li, who was on the verge of despair, ushered in a turning point: from an unexpected conversation, he learned that he could go to the judicial aid office of the Justice Bureau for help and find relatives, "A total of 8 times, each time a person came, and each time I came I received him seriously." Wang Di remembered very clearly.
These 8 receptions are not simple and are not in vain. "Every time, the communication between me and Uncle Li is through paper and pencil, and we communicate through dialogue and writing. This way of communication itself is inefficient, coupled with Uncle Li's lack of social common sense, a lot of information I have to go through the process of 'guess first, then confirm, and then verify', the difficulty of the process is difficult to imagine. Fortunately, every meeting has greatly helped the progress of the case. Wang Di told reporters.
Every time a new clue is obtained, Wang Di and his colleagues immediately handle the case without delay. "Everyone wants to help the two old people meet as soon as possible, and to be able to win one day early is to win a day." Wang Di's eyes flashed with determination.
The Emperor did not pay off, and with the cooperation of all relevant departments, Uncle Li and his cousin met and recognized each other, and the knot of hearts for many years was resolved.
A model for promoting the integrated development of legal services in Zhuhai and Macao
The turquoise waters of the sea turned into waves, and the waves lapped happily against the reefs on the shore. Standing in the north of Zhuhai, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is like a dancing dragon, and Zhuhai and Macao are connected like lips and teeth.
With the deepening of Zhuhai-Macao cooperation, the scale and quality of labor cooperation between Zhuhai and Macao have been continuously improved. In 2021, Wang Di took the lead in promoting the establishment of the Zhuhai-Macao (Macao-Zhuhai) Workers Legal Service Center, established a communication and cooperation mechanism with the Macao Legal Affairs Bureau and the Macao Judicial Assistance Commission, and signed the "Zhuhai-Macao Labor Legal Aid Service Agreement" with the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions and the Macao Federation of Trade Unions. The agreement is aimed at the occurrence of labor disputes or civil disputes between Macao residents in Zhuhai and labor disputes in Macao. Through the center, it is transferred to the Municipal Legal Aid Office to provide legal aid services and realize cross-border rights protection.

Among the relevant cases that Wang Di was involved in, there was one that impressed her very much. In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Mr. Liu, a Hong Kong national working at a restaurant in Zhuhai, was fired because the restaurant was affected by the epidemic. Due to his lack of understanding of mainland laws and the sudden impact of the incident, the employer was also overwhelmed, and Mr. Liu, who was suddenly unemployed, was distressed and helpless, and finally went to the Legal Aid Office of the Municipal Bureau of Justice to "ask for help" at the recommendation of his co-workers, and with the efforts of Wang Di and his colleagues, Mr. Liu came out of the predicament.
"We first calmed Mr. Liu's emotions and made him have trust and confidence in us, so that he could 'enter his ears' with the relevant mainland laws and suggestions for him." On these basis, we can successfully achieve the goal of solving the problem through mediation and consultation between the two sides. Wang Di said frankly. After providing legal aid to recipients, many recipients and the staff of the Legal Aid Office have become friends who often communicate with each other, and whenever they see some legal aid knowledge forwarded in the circle of friends, the recipients are always the first to like and forward it, and spread it to more people in need.
In Wang Di's view, legal aid and flexible governance have played a key role in handling cases involving Hong Kong and Macao migrant workers in the mainland. This is particularly evident under the influence of the epidemic. "It is urgent to emphasize that the epidemic has brought great harm to enterprises, and under the impact, it is not only employees whose interests have been damaged, but also employers. Many employers have come to consult on how to use the law to minimize the loss of employees' vital interests and how to make enterprises bail out. Salary cuts and layoffs are by no means the original intention of business owners, and it is extremely important to think about problems from the perspective of both sides and to resolve contradictions with flexible governance as the starting point. She told reporters.
In the face of the challenge of the epidemic, Wang Di presided over the compilation and printing of the "20 Questions and Answers on the Law on Labor Relations for Epidemic Prevention and Control", which included small and micro enterprises, individual industrial and commercial households and people returning to poverty due to the epidemic into the scope of services, led the formation of a 20-person legal aid party member volunteer service group, and launched the "Epidemic Legal Aid Service" special area, providing more than 20,000 online services.
Preside over the establishment of a legal aid service network, build 80 legal aid workstations and 330 contact points, implement the "municipal general office", "one network communication office" and "same-day office" for legal aid applications, establish an "online + offline" party independent choice lawyer system, a legal aid economic status declaration system, and a legal aid certification matter notification commitment system, etc.; Optimize the legal aid process, reduce 18 types of certification matters, and realize more than 20 government service measures such as 14 types of certificates "certificate-free office"... In ordinary posts, Wang Di and his colleagues took the initiative to take the initiative and actively acted, making extraordinary achievements, and now more than 300 people in Zhuhai receive legal aid for every 100,000 people.
Honors followed. In 2021, the Zhuhai Municipal Legal Aid Office was rated as a outstanding unit in the Ministry of Justice's "Legal Aid to Benefit people's livelihood and alleviate poverty and run a well-off" activity, and Wang Di was rated as an advanced individual in safeguarding the rights and interests of women and children in the country.
