On August 27, the 2022 Global Conference on Overseas Chinese and Ethnic Chinese Promoting China's Peaceful Reunification was held in Sichuan. The meeting coincided with the 30th anniversary of the 1992 Consensus, with the theme of "adhering to the one-China principle and the '1992 Consensus' and jointly creating the great cause of national reunification and national rejuvenation." More than 3,000 people from more than 360 unification promotion associations and related organizations from more than 120 countries and regions around the world participated in the conference through online and offline methods.

Zheng Jianbang, vice chairman of the CppcC National Committee and vice chairman of the China Association for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification, delivered a video speech at the meeting; Xu Yousheng, secretary general of the China Association for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification; Chen Yuanfeng, deputy director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council; and Tian Xiangli, chairman of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.
