The white-throated hornbill (scientific name: Anorrhinus austeni) is a bird of the order Hornbillaceae. Body length 880 mm. The mouth is like a thick mouth. Adults have a dark brownish grey back and a pale brown belly; a white throat, with white tail feathers on either side of the wing tip and tail feathers that can be seen when flying.

China is only found in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan.
It is a resident bird and often moves in groups. Groups range from a few to dozens, but mostly small groups of several; they move individually or in pairs during the breeding season. Perched in trees. Flying often alternates between flapping wings and gliding, and the speed of flight is relatively slow. It feeds on plant foods such as plant fruits, seeds and shoots, as well as animal foods such as insects and tree frogs.
The breeding season is from April to June. The nest is in a natural tree hole with thick trees. Eggs are usually laid in 3 to 4 clutches, occasionally as few as 2 and as many as 5. The eggs are incubated by the female. The incubation period is 24 days.
