My experience of catching "snails"
I used to see snails occasionally, and its cute appearance was quite cute, and it had never been associated with pests. And this year, as if overnight, snails quickly flooded. Good vegetable seedlings, mottled overnight, full of devastation, careful observation, the original initiator is not an aphid, nor a vegetable insect, but a seemingly cute and harmless little snail. As a result, killing snails has become my daily focus.
The simplest method is artificial capture: snails crawl extremely slowly, and they are easier to identify, and there is no difficulty in catching, just see and pick it up. The efficiency of hand catching is still very high, this is not, just an hour to catch two full bottles of snails. Although there are good results every day, snails are inexhaustible, it seems to be increasing, the speed of capture is far from catching up with the breeding ability of snails, and they are deeply overwhelmed and have to adjust their strategy.
Yesterday evening, "tetraacetaldehyde" particles were laid out at snail-infested spots, and the blue particles were very eye-catching and emitted a special smell. Tetraacetaldehyde is a special pesticide that kills mollusks, such as snails and slugs, and is also used as a solid fuel.
This morning, I couldn't wait to verify the effect of "tetraacetaldehyde", and sure enough, seven or eight dead snails were found at the point where snails were more infested, and of course, there were empty points.
It seems that the killing effect of tetraacetaldehyde is good, and its taste can lure snails over, and after snail contact, they will dehydrate and die. The disadvantage is that snail contact is required to sanitize. However, this method will not pollute the vegetables and will not affect the consumption of vegetables.
