The twitter username that issued the threat is Meer Asif Aziz. He tweeted support for Hadi Matar, who attacked Rushdie.

Rowling said publicly that after she reported the threat she had received to Twitter, Twitter responded that the user had not violated the rules.

The email from Twitter read: "After reviewing the available information, we determined that there was no violation of the Rules of Twitter in the content you reported. We appreciate your help and if you find any potential violations, we encourage you to contact us again in the future. ”

Rowling posted in response to Twitter: "These are your guidelines, right? 'Violence: You must not threaten violence against individuals or groups, and we prohibit glorification of violence...'Terrorism/violent extremism: you must not threaten or promote terrorism'. ”

On August 12, local time, writer Salman Rushdie was attacked at a speech in New York State, USA, and was stabbed in the neck and abdomen. According to The New York Times, Rushdie, who is currently using a ventilator to sustain his life, may have lost an eye and damaged his arm and liver.

Hardy Matar, a 24-year-old New Jersey man who attacked Rushdie, was arrested at the scene, and police said it was unclear what his motives were. Rushdie's attack is widely believed to be related to his work, The Satanic Psalms, which has been banned in Iran since 1988 and has been subject to long-standing physical threats.
