Among the 4 major seas in China, only the Yellow Sea is related to Qingdao, some species can eat all the north and south seas, and some are limited to the south or north, and there is no "freedom of migration"; but with the environmental changes and temperature increases in recent years, many species in China's coastal waters have shown a trend of spreading northward, and some things that do not live in Qingdao have also quietly emerged. This article lists three to see if you've seen it?

Fig. 1 True slugs
First, the true slug/Octopus vulgaris, the large octopus. Qingdao's local "octopus" is dominated by short cockroaches /Octopus ocellatus, followed by long cockroaches/Octopus variabilis, both of which are produced in both north and south, and the long cockroaches are especially produced in the yellow and Bohai Seas, but the individuals are not large, and compared with the real cocks, they are "small grams see large grams". True cockroaches are like the "real man" in the octopus, with a large body, muscular, and can grow to more than 2.5 kilograms, and the islanders like to use it to make "octopus balls".
Fig. 2 True Slugs
True slugs are found in the southern waters of China, with the northernmost boundary in the Zhoushan area of Zhejiang Province, and there have been no records of discoveries in the Yellow and Bohai Seas in the past, and in recent years they have occasionally been caught near Chaolian Island in Qingdao.
Fig. 3 Ley's pseudo-squid
Second, Ley's pseudo-squid /Sepioteuthis lessoniana, a large gun squid, is short and fat, more like a squid, but in fact it is still a kind of "squid", commonly known as "big tail squid". Is there any squid that can be eaten in the waters of Qingdao? Of course, there are, but they are all small, such as Japanese gun squid / Loligo japonica, musket squid / Loligo beka, etc., usually people do not regard it as "squid", preferring to call them "pen tube fish".
Fig. 4 Ley's pseudo-squid
The emergence of Lai's pseudo-squid fills the gap that qingdao does not have delicious squid (the market is foreign), but the number may not be large, and it is only occasionally visible.
Fig. 5 Beaded fish
Third, beaded fish /Trichiurus margarites. The pectoral fin is yellow, and the stall owners of the aquatic market call it "golden striped fish", saying that it is caught locally and sold for 30/catty. In the past, the striped fish in Qingdao sea were mainly white-banded fish /Trichiurus lepturu, but there were also small striped fish/Eupleurogrammus muticus of different genera in the same family, and the pearl-banded fish was only available in recent years, that is, "East China Sea yellowfin striped fish".
Fig. 6 Pearl striped fish
The real slugs and Raiser squid just introduced are just a glimpse, but they can be encountered but not sought, and although the pearl striped fish is also occasionally visible, the yield is often worth selling. Compared to the "normal" striped fish, this fish is thicker, and the flesh is soft and tight, and the taste is more luscious, which cannot be missed when encountered.
The above three species, are not supposed to appear in the Qingdao sea species, September 1 open sea is imminent, you may wish to go to the major aquatic products market to take a look, perhaps there is a chance to meet these Qingdao local "southern goods".
